    Core temp. monitoring program

I just got my new machine built but I am looking for a core temperature program that will actually work for my AMD X4 970 processor. I have tried HwMonitor, CoreTemp and SpeedFan and none of them work. Anyone know a program that will?

Your problem is you're running an AMD. Even if you did manage to get one to work, and I don't know why they aren't, it won't be right.
    CPU - i7-950 @ 4.1ghz
    GPU - GTX 470 @ 880/1760/2100
    Storage - 2x Crucial C300 64GB SSD Raid 0 / 1x WD CB 1TB / 2x WD CB 640GB
    Memory - 6GB Corsair Dominator 1600
PSU - 1000W Coolermaster Silent Pro
    Case - Coolermaster HAF X
CPU Water Block - EK Supreme Nickel/Plexi CPU Water Block
GPU Water Block - EK GTX 470 Nickel/Plexi GPU Water Block

You sure that's the reason? Admittedly I haven't used an AMD Processor since Single Cores were the norm but I didn't have issues with any of the Apps the OP mentioned, though I suppose the BIOS and Thermal Sensors may have been changed and causing issues.

I wasn't aware that running AMD would make any difference.

(not that this is especially helpful, but...)
I'm running a 720 and I used CoreTemp 0.99.8 when I was doing my OC.

It could be as simple as a version issue..?

I'm using AMD too and have no trouble with CoreTemp.

It doesn't make a difference what processor you're using. I have the AMD 965 and use CoreTemp. Make sure you extract the program files to a folder. I keep mine right on C:/

Yeah CoreTemp just shows all 4 cores as 0 degrees, like all the other programs. :/

It seems to monitor everything else fine, just not temperature.

Monitoring processes just poll the temperature sensor in the hardware. If the well-known programs are all returning no data (0 degrees), then the sensor is probably faulty. If Core Temp doesn't work, try Real Temp. If that doesn't work, try SpeedFan. If that doesn't work, the sensor's probably garbage.

May just be a bug with mobo firmware
