    Blizzard fail

So I stopped playing last January and left my authenticator from my old iPod on my account, and last night I completed the web form to remove my authenticator. It only took about 30 minutes so I logged back into the game and checked out all my old characters then logged out and went to bed. So I logged in about 5 minutes ago and all of my characters are naked and/or deleted.... It had only been like 7 hours since I removed my authenticator, and it's been on my account since like 2008 or 2009 when we had the battlebot event.

That means either one of two things:

1: Some cunt hacker with no life has been trolling my email for upwards of 2 years.

2: Blizzard can't keep account information safe.

It really makes me wonder why I'm getting letters from BB&T reporting that they have blocked several payments due to fraudulent activity. Does that mean that Blizzard can't keep my personal information safe?

Anyway, it's not like I care because I really don't play this game anymore, but I had 7 80s, 2 70s and a few 50+s and they've all been deleted xD

    Intel Core i5 4690K 3.50Ghz, OC'd to 4.0Ghz | 8GB Corsair DDR3-1066 RAM | Gigabyte Z97-HD3
    NVIDIA GeForce 680GTX 2048MB VRAM | Corsair 750TX 750W PSU | Phantecks Dual fan PH-TC14PE

Okay... You say you don't care? Then why bother posting it on here? We don't care either.
Also, I'll bet everything that I own that this is your own damn fault. Blizzard keeps your information safe. Apparently, you do not.

Keylogger, that is all. I seriously, seriously doubt any of your banking info was stolen from Blizzard, especially since you said you have been receiving these notices PRIOR to removing your authenticator.

Check your comp, and quit blaming Blizzard for your lack of security.

LOL this has nothing to do with blizzard. It is obvious you need better security on your system. Watch less internet pron.

This is the kind of posts that just should not have been posted.
If everyone would just stop posting about shit they doesn't care about, then the forums would already be a better place to be.

You have to understand that your account may have been keyloged for sometime. When was the last time you changed your password that they might of had for years? The hackers that get accounts are not dumb by any means and may or may not have programs running that keep trying passwords in hopes that someone like you, removes an authenticator, and thus hacked very easy.

It is knowone's fault but your own, however, blizzard is good about restoring stuff atleast the first time.

While more than likely the breach was on the client side, I wouldn't necessarily assume that Blizzard has 100% perfect security. There are plenty of high profile examples in recent years of banks being compromised, which compared to a videogame company, is a whole different level.

Let me get this straight .... You quit playing the game, you filled out webform to get Authenticator removed instead of doing that on the Battle.net website?
You assum blizzard cannot keep account info secure?

You sir, Failed in understanding the meaning of keylogger

Stolen ... from elyssia .... mad elyssia?

Why is you letting a hacker have access to your email Blizzards fault?
I shall die here. Every inch of me shall perish. Every inch, but one. An inch. It is small and it is fragile and it is the only thing in the world worth having. We must never lose it or give it away. We must never let them take it from us.

Original poster just failed at life, lol. How about you rename your topic to "I fail" and stop blaming Blizzard for things that you are ultimately responsible for? It's obvious that you had a keylogger on your system that activated once you launched WoW -- It then sent the information to its owners and they logged into your account.

I've had my account for two and a half years. No authenticator. I had the worst password ever for two years on my b.net account and before bnet was implemented.

Never hacked once. You people just need to stop clicking on bad stuff.

Heh, I've been playing Wow since pre-BC not once was i hacked and I've been using the same 3-4 passwords every time. And whoever says it's because of him watching porn, it's not. He either needs to get a better internet security software or not click on bad links OR all of the above.

Oh, and not using the same password that you use on fan-site forums like this one is a BIG plus.

One last thing, i still don't have an authenticator and will not be buying one.

I wouldn't blame blizzard. They don't go around like blabber-mouths telling everyone your information. It's most likely your own fault, you may have given it away without even knowing. (websites, friends, ect...)
