Why can't tank's loot?

I usually just loot while tanking, if the last mob to die is my loot then it gets skipped as long as the healer has mana for the next pull.

I think it depends on what you mean when you say stop to loot.

Taking 5 seconds to auto loot a body? No problems.

Spending a minute or two between pulls to loot, sort through bags, stand afk for 30seconds, mark, stand afk for 30 seconds, run up until you are just about in agro range and looking like you will pull and then stop short and afk for 30 seconds, and then finally pull? That gets old.
