Spectral Tigers

So today I log on to see a guy with 6 spectral tigers on AH(Mal'Ganis US) and one on his character. How is this even possible? I have been trying to get this mount forever, and seing a guy with 5 of them is just crazy. Is their another way to get them then just buying cards or buying it off ebay?

He has money, no big deal. I'm sure there's lots of people who could afford one but either A. Think it's silly to spend that much on a mount or B. Don't care about mounts.

There is a loot card from one of the recent TCG sets that has a very low chance of awarding one of spectral tigers. It is a really, really low chance, but it is there.

Odds are you'll get the path of Cenarius item. Every time. Like I do...

The guy probably bought either a lot of cards (Fires of Outland decks) or just bought the cards, but that would be kinda stupid.

Maybe you should buy one off the AH if you want one (is it the normal version he's putting up, or the epic one?)

They are one and the same since mount speed normalization took place. The only difference is that the epic version has those hideous ankle-guards.

Fair enough, but as you said the normal version looks like a "naked" tiger, rather than the "epic" one which has plated armour on its body.
Maybe I should rephrase my question and ask if it was the blue or the purple version he put up

Could be a guy from one of those TCG reward selling sites. They probably base some of their items on highpop servers like Mal'Ganis.

maybe working in a lil shop that sells those cards and picked out the rare cards to sell em ingame?
i knew someone who did just that. when they got a new delivery he opened all decks, took the rare cards, packed em up again and sold em.
everything is possible?
