You know the link to the mobo in which you stated doesn't support 1600... Also someone linked this piece earlier http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/mem...sandy-bridge/1
Gonna look into this further, it appears you may be correct, and if so I owe you an apology.
No apology needed. I feel you may have misspoke as you linked references to the cpu memory controller which has nothing to do with the motherboards capability. Even though the chip lists it as well doesn't mean that it won't run at a higher rate either. Just as you can o.c. the chip the ram can run at the rated speed up to what the board supports, which this one does.
Just to throw in my 2 cents, my P8P67 Pro recognizes up to DDR3 2133 in bios.
Intel Core i7 5820K @ 4.2GHz | Asus X99 Deluxe Motherboard | 16GB Crucial DDR4 2133 | MSI GTX 980 4G GAMING | Corsair HX750 Gold | 500GB Samsung 840 EVO
Nobody got upset, I just don't like it when people post utter crap especially on this sub forum where people might base their hardware purchases on those bad advices. And this wasn't the first thread where the guy was preaching about SB only supporting DDR3 1066 & 1333. He had already been presented loads of proof against that(The same article you linked as well), but he still didn't believe it and kept spamming the same thing here.
