thrash/death metal and such ive always loved the bass

    You need some Skrillex.
And Pendulum might tickle your fancy.

Idk about "techno" but I know there's a lot of bass heavy Dubstep out there. If you've never heard of Dubstep i suggest you look up TC and Rusko.

    Rusko: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WtMlB-BEMso

    TC (Caspa Remix): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZJ04B5iO1tc

Personally, i'm not a big fan of Dubstep. I mostly listen to tech/death/doom/black metal. Dubstep was cool for like 2 weeks but honestly it all sounds the same. However, it simply slaps in my car and I have two 12" Boston Competitor subs.

im in the same opinion on dubstep , the best stuff from an y dubstep people are remixes of metal songs.
thats why im in this odd predicament of findin the right stuff XP either its way to mundane like DS or to light like most techno

I've been listening to Daft Punk's Alive 2007 for the past week and it's been rocking my world pretty hard.

For some good heavy shit go with Skrillex. Likewise with some Deadmau5 and if you want some bass-y chillout music, try Daft Punk

Since you asked for techno let me be the first to actually recommend you some techno, first thing springing to mind would be to check out some Schranz, or hardtechno in general, like this:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qEzEg...eature=related

Or, as you mention liking metal maybe you should take a look at its electronic kin, Hardcore (techno) and its many sub sub genres like industiral hardcore, speedcore and such, also try breakcore.
Best you pick up these terms and google further and see if you find something you like

What exactly chills you out about french house? daft punk isn't chill.

By bass heavy techno, I'm going to assume you mean electro house. I'm also going to assume you want something to show off the sub in your car that isn't a black guy rapping about guns and street corners.

For beginners, it's best to start with the Essential Mix on BBC Radio 1. Individual track downloading can be confusing and chances are you are downloading low quality rips. I like to use er7radio.net for most.

Here are some recent EM favourites of mine:

    Gareth Wyn
    Basement Jaxx
    Swedish House Mafia 2010
    Magnetic Man
    Audio Bullys
    Jack Beats

Lots of good stuff in 2009 but 2008 trumps it with mixes from Rusko, Flying Lotus, Steve Aoki, Benga and the ever impressive Fake Blood.

Umek from 2007 is also one of my favorite mixes of all time.

These mixes are 2 hours long and mostly electro house/progressive house/fidget/breaks/dubstep.

If you want some actual "techno", that is to say 'tech house' style mixes go for Four Tet, Justin Martin or Boy 8 Bit. Those aren't as bass heavy as you might want to hear, but the DJ'ing is technically masterful.

Open your eyes, electronic music is a far cry from what most rock or metal heads make it out to be. There is some amazing music out there.

***DO NOT*** download any hard style or anything with the label 'happy hardcore.' It is for kids on way too much MDMA with pikachu backpacks strapped to their chests.

Depends a bit on what you're looking for, here's a range of some of the heavier bass songs I know:

    More trance-oriented:
Super8&Tab - Elektra (Bart Claessen & Dave Schiemann Remix)(bass rolls in at 1:20)
Dark by Design - Blackout (Yoji Biomehanika Remix)("hardtrance")
Yoji Biomehanika - A Theme from Banginglobe (not sure whether this was the System F Remix or the Scot Project Remix)
    Tiësto vs Diplo - C'mon

    More electro/dance influences:
Chemical Brothers - Under The Influence
Boys Noize - Kontakt Me (Rynecologist Remix) (very long build-up)
    Green Velvet - Genedefekt
Faithless - I'm Not Going Home (Eric Prydz Remix)
DJ Hell ft Diddy - The Dj

    More hardstyle-oriented:
Builder - Her Voice (Dana Remix)(hard bass starts at 1:46)
JTS - Nog Een Keer)(known from the technoviking video :P)
    Jesselyn - Iron

I used CDs by a band called Techmaster P.E.B. for bass-offs and those tracks were solid. You may be interested in checking them out.

Here our some bands i know of that may help.

    MSTRKRFT- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IoVR_hHrcAE
    Vitalic - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XGOaXphpT7w
    The Toxic Avenger - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FlyLVL1FWbU
    Yuksek - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GkJOvBHXlNg

Ones that use Lyrics, these are less Bass pumped but use Vocals to add to the sound's flow.
    (If that makes any sense)

    The Presets - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CZe9Y...feature=relmfu
    Grafton Primary - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rXijEFrHQkg
    Fischerspooner - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fp0gP...eature=related
    Midnight Juggernauts- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J6SKNEYvZvQ

Most of this stuff (If not all) is not Tecno, mostly Electronic/dance and Post Electroclash.
