Thinking about getting a new comp (low budget)

What would be the cheapest computer that would run WoW at 40+ fps with atleast everything on "Good" settings?
Building one is not an issue and I know I would need a monitor but as of right now I'm jsut concerned about a tower.
If you could write out a list of things that would meet what I mentioned above or a website that would be good to look at that would be great.

CPU AMD Phenom II X4 840 Propus 3.2GHz
Graphics card Galaxy 60XMH6HS3HMW GeForce GTX 460 (Fermi) GC 768MB 192-bit GDDR5 or this one
    4GB of RAM
any am3 mobo that I'll let someone else recommend since

Are you going to be overclocking? What exactly is your budget and I assume you are in the US? GTX 460 768mb is 20-30% faster, but it won't really matter in WoW, it's performance difference will only be existent and noticeable in games other than WoW.

I would go with Phenom II x4 955, AM3 Mobo, 4gb DDR3 ram and a GTS 450. Will cost the same as above but perform better as the Phenom II x4 840 is just a rebranded Athlon II with no L3 cache and dropping the GPU to a 450 over the 460 will give the extra cash needed for the better CPU.

Edit: ATI 5770 is same price and performance as GTS450 so also an option.

    CPU, $110.99 +/-
    Graphics, $130 +/-
    PSU 650W, $50
HDD 1TB, $62 almost all will work, just make it 7200rpm min.
MoBo, $100 just make sure it has the proper socket.
    RAM, 4gb PNY, $47
    Nice case, great value, $48

Total cost: $548. this is what i run, but i may have missed something. I get 40 to 60 fps on all ultra in most locations. but of obv it lowers in high populated areas like SW or ORG.

GTX 460 768mb is less than $110 after MIR, so that won't give a lot of extra cash over a gts 450. ATI 5770 is slightly faster than a gts 450, but it is also a little bit more expensive (around $100 vs. $90 for the gts 450).

Both the CPU and graphics card I recommended are cheaper and faster than what you are running. I have never heard of that PSU brand, but I know for a fact that $50-60 can get you a quality PSU.

Yeah, Diablotek PSU's are absolutely horrible, stay far away from them. Can get a superior Antec Eco Neo or TruePower New for a similar price.

OP if you raid 25 mans then settle for nothing less than a Phenom II x4 955 and if you just do 5/10 man stuff or PvP with exception to TB the rebranded Athlon II (Phenom II 840) will do the job for you but it is not a gaming CPU by a long way and the little extra you pay for the 955 will be worth it in the long run.

i do like the set up that Kardezar put up with Nwo's input. but do these systems come with any windows or anything on them? or would i have to get that separately?

They do not come with the OS. You have to make sure you have an OS you can install or you would have to pay $100 and purchase one.

    That's a decent build. However...

-That's a GTX 460 SE, which is the shitty edition. A much better alternative for a budget build would be a GTX 460 768mb version.
-Paying $100 for a PSU for a budget build is insane. You shouldn't be spending more than $50 on a budget build PSU.
PSU I would recommend for a budget build:
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817139019
It's not top notch quality, but your system is not even gonna use 300W at peak times, so there is no need to get a super high quality PSU. This particular PSU is decent quality, inexpensive, reliable, and still gives you a lot of room for future upgrades.

How soon do you need this computer? Intel have recently released their i3-2100 @ $129.99 for consumers. Motherboards are currently unavailable on Newegg and most other major e-tailers until around April time, but if you are willing to wait it presents good value.

Bare in mind there is no option to overclock this processor at all, not even a turbo feature. However its out of the box performance generally beats AMD's top brand CPUs (at stock) in a number of recent titles. This means another thing also, AMD have to respond fairly soon once Intel start rereleasing their motherboards, you could see a significant price drop from a number of gaming orientated AMD CPUs.

Buy a Pheno 2 with 2 cores. U can unlock those to 4 cores because they have 2 hidden cores.

Buy a ATI 6850 card because its the best for performance and money.

Buy any AM3 board. Look at those that work best to unlock the other 2 cores.

Check Newegg.com if your from the US. Its got the best prices, customer service, and variety.

    Heres a decent PSU

    http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product...82E16817709027

Buy 4GB of ram cuz its cheap. Anything more than that is not needed.

BTW. If you have an older computer. Please recycle what you can from it to keep the cost down. For example, if the HD is big enough for your needs, then re-use it in this new comp. You can also recycle things like the case, dvd drive, monitor, etc.

That's not how rails work. Just think of them as a safety measure over a single rail.

This would actually be a superior choice to a Builder's series PSU, and it would still provide plenty of power even for a GTX 580: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817371030
That's not decent, that's junk. 680 watts for $40? It doesn't even have 80% of its "rated" power dedicated to 12v, I wouldn't even expect it to last past 400 watts, not that the suggested systems would even pull near that amount.

Or you can get the OS free and pay nothing. But it isn't "legal" =)

Alluding to Piracy is a bannable offense last time I checked.
Also, there are free OS' out there. They're just not all that great. I used Ubuntu until I was able to get enough for Windows 7.

the card i put up there is only "shitty" because the clock speeds are lower, just OC it other than that its only 48 stream processers lower.

the PSU you showed him isnt a modular one, but is nice. its really prefference on both calls.

Lower clock speeds as well as 48 less stream processors is a pretty big performance impact, it is certainly not the best graphics card in its price range. A 768mb version of the gtx 460 is cheaper and outperforms the shitty edition.

Bah, newegg's search sucks! I looked up Antec PSU's earlier and only the $60+ and 600W+ ones came up as search results. That Antec PSU is definitely the best PSU under $50.

I don't think that a $170 card qualifies to be a part of a budget build.
