Simulation Games - Bullfrog, Maxis, etc.

I've been checking other websites, wikis, etc. for information, but can't really find any. Are there any good simulation games around anymore?

I have the Sims 3...but I have very fond memories of Sim City, other Sim games (ants, boats, earth, etc.). I loved Theme Hospital, Theme Park, Dungeon Master, and the like.

I heard a while ago that bullfrog got bought out. I don't remember who, and haven't heard anything since.

I saw Rollar Coaster Tycoon games, but they all looked really lame. Any ideas? Or is this a dead genre, besides The Sims?

Did you ever try Transport Tycoon? It's really old but amongst THE most enjoyable sim'ish games I played.
