At the capital cities (Earth, Qo-nos, and New Romulus), there is an ingame plaque with the names, occupations, and dates of deceased persons who either worked on or contributed to the Star Trek franchise.

Nope, Quark I actually liked for the most part, he could at least be interesting and not obnoxious. Nog never failed to make me want to stop watching an episode the second he appeared in it.

I hate to necro this thread, but this is extremely important: If you log into the game right now before tomorrow at 10 AM PST, the devs will give you a free Tier 5 starship from the store! You can either an Excelsior (super powerful endgame cruiser), an Ar'kif Warbird (elite escort vessel), or a Marauder Patrol Cruiser (very large carrier).

The new expansion takes place during TOS. No, not some updated version of Kirk's time or Abrams' universe; the expansion is literally set during the original series with all the classic designs and such. Bold move.

Will supposedly launch this summer.

About 20% of STO storylines take place in the past, and going to the TOS era in STO has been done since 2009, but this is the first time where we've spent an entire expansion in the past, and more specifically in a single era. Will be interesting. At least we'll be getting away from the apocalyptic war story of the game for now.

Fuck...this is some bullshit fanservice, but it's some bullshit fanservice THAT I TOTALLY WANT. Enjoyed the missions in-game where you traveled back in time to TOS already...

I don't need to add another bloody MMO to my rotation right now, much less one where I'd need to spend so much time leveling up a new character. My federation character has barely started and I kinda don't want to take my klingon empire green bikini lady squad through it, though maybe I should dust them off and start working on catching up in content.

Edit: Read a bit more about it and damnit all, looks like this is getting added back into my rotation. Time to push my federation character through all the content and try to remember how to play the damn game -_-

Trying to get back into it. I keep changing my mind in which faction to play. Usually kdf but the bad STD ship designs for klingon makes me want to go Fed.

Not a fan of STD, so it didn't matter to me.

I primarily play 25th century Starfleet. I had a KDF character when the game first launched, but hardly played that character because KDF was just a PvP faction back then and didn't have any story. After the story revamp, I rolled a KDF aligned Romulan. The KDF becomes pretty irrelevant after the Federation-KDF war arc anyway.

KDF has a handful of cool ships, like the classic Bird of Prey, the Vor'cha, and the Negh'Var. Otherwise, I prefer to sleek Starfleet and Romulan designs.

I like a lot of the new fed ships especially with the section 31 vanity shield. I just love my klingon honor guard armor too much to play anything else.

I was hoping I could get some event ships I missed from the new muds market but the prices are kind of crazy for what's there. Still beats the odds on ultra rare phoenix boxes I guess.
