Check out this wishlist I put together a while ago for a friend. Throw in a better HD @ 1TB and your Windows 7 x64 and you'll be flyin.

The Challenger case is a tight fit for full ATX boards, so that's why I opted for a micro ATX board, but it's fully featured and the latest chipset for AMD processors.

The case will be fine with that board but yeah I would go with http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822136284 caviar black with it.

    Wow, I'm a total idiot... I thought I posted the wishlist, guess I didn't. Here's the link: http://secure.newegg.com/WishList/Pu...umber=22492648

Hard Drive interface is just a gimmick at this point, there's no physical hard drive fast enough to saturate a SATA2 port.

Go with a Spinpoint or Caviar Black

not bad for a $800 budget.

Id suggest getting a new Processor. Try the i7 2600k. its about 250$ and it beats the i7 990x in many tests. not to mention the i7 990x is upwards of 800-100$. If you cant afford the 250% i7 2600k, look into the i5 2500, its competitive to the i7''s and its probably my second best suggestion towards a processor.

    1.) i7 2600k
    2.) i5 2500k

Also sandy bridge just released a new mother bored platform of p67 which "unlock" the gaming potential of the 2nd gen ( i3, i5, i7 that have 4 didgets IE 2600 ) to better you're gaming needs

    990X is Now: $999.99

If you have access to discounts, can be had for around 800.

why are people that clearly play wow (on these forums arnt you) buying ATI video cards. Nvidia cards are not only better to begin with but they run wow better. a GTX560 for 250 dollars will run wow better then the best ATI card available.

At that tier the limiting factor is most likely the CPU. Even a quad-sli 580 system will barely outperform a single 580 system when the CPU isn't up to par.

He's talking about mainly playing WoW and Rift, not about doing some heavy video / 3D rendering jobs. i5-2500K is easily enough. And I don't get what you mean by the last sentence. At all. Only thing that was changed with the new motherboard revision was fixed SATA2 ports, nothing related to any sort of gaming potential.

Oh yea, and Sandy Bridge is the codename for the processor microarchitecture, not something that can "release" new motherboard platforms.

Actually with high resolutions and full AA, radeon 6950&6970 will pull ahead of 560 in WoW. Besides, the difference is so minimal anyway that it doesnt matter shit.

Oh yea, and if someone plays other games than WoW as well, 6950&6970 just tear 560 a new one.

They are roughly the same, performance difference varies depending on the game, but I would take the 6850 since it is cheaper and uses 50W less (save money over time on your power bill + less heat for more OCing if you intend to do that). If you have a $200 graphics card budget, go with a 5870 since it is a lot faster (20-30%) than both the 6850 and gtx 460.
