Need a New Game to Try

So I am looking for a new PC game to keep my interest outside of WoW and thought I'd reach out to the MMO Champ community for advice. I am looking for either an RPG or Action game at this point, FPS might not be out of the question at this time. New or old, it doesn't matter. I'm a fan of games like Neverwinter Nights, Diablo, Fallout, Half Life, Bioshock 2. I'm looking for a game that will peak my interest with an extended re playability factor.

Are there any suspenseful RPG/Action games that are out there that may have made it under the radar? How's the new Dead Space? I don't want to try RIFT, Did the beta, no thanks. Just looking for some suggestions to keep from being overly bored.

Theres a good Steam deal this week-end. 4 Ubisoft games for 12$. That can keep you semi-entertained for the next month or 2 if your a little slower. Between 20$ for WoW and 12$ for 4 games, i'd tap that if i were you.

Dragon Age: Origins hours upon hours of gametime in that game, and Dragon age 2 is out in a week. Batman Asylum is simply an awsome game, but there is only about 20 hours of gametime in it if you go for everything. In the FPS genre there is always COD, The Witcher is also a good RPG game and since the The Witcher 2 is due soon, the first game is not that exspensive.

id would advise if you have some time, and really want to get into the experiance of an rpg, dont look at the fancy ones now a days, download a snes emulator, and get chrono trigger, secret of mana, i think final fantasy 4 or 5, super mario rpg (surprisingly good) and enjoy what life was like when these games where new

Great suggestions all, thanks. I have Dragon Age, and I tried to get into it but couldn't. Maybe a 2nd round of it will get me into it. Anyone else have that problem? Get a game, try it, uninstall it...come back a few weeks later, same game, play it for months and can't put it down?

The Steam deal sounds interesting, I'll have to check that out.

Winner for the most unusually cool suggestion: The SNES emulator. The problem is that I'm afraid of malware and viruses with the emulators out there, I'd have to be cautious.

Dead Space 2 is actually really great. I was planning on playing it for a little bit like an hour or so, cause my friend's sister wanted to play it. So she came over at like 1:10 didn't stop playing till 11 that night. It's so fun.

Try the Elder Scrolls series, if you haven't already. They definitely fit the action RPG bill, with TONS of re-playability.

I'm not sure where to get the older games, but Morrowind and Oblivion are both on Steam for about $20 each.

    Torchlight.

Thanks for the Dead Space info, still something I'm leaning towards as possibility as well. I do have Oblivion. I played it a bit then I think I hit a dead end with it..Don't quote me on that I'll have to dig back to the depths of my PC to find the games if I still have them.

Have torchlight, got boring for me...it's just not Diablo.

Assassins Creed Brotherhood is due later this month, perhaps it's worth considering?
I enjoyed AC:2 myself, although it was a bit short.

    Starcraft II?

FPS: Bulletstorm, Black Ops (Obviously), Fallout: New Vegas.... For a massive laugh, download "Duty Calls."
Get Diablo III when it comes out.

also check out http://www.youtube.com/totalhalibut for pretty much any good games.

Definitely looking forward to Diablo III, they need to finish it up already.

About Fallout, new Vegas. I thought some of the Fallout expansion packs were lacking a bit, although I thought The Pitt was pretty okay. How does New Vegas compare? The Gamespot reviews are mixed.

Black Ops...I've been afraid to jump into the CoD series. Is it worth it?

Mass Effect 2 is pretty good.

    Torchlight
    Magicka
Battlefield: Bad Company 2 (if you like FPS)
    Dragon Age
    Bioshock 1 & 2
    Mass Effect 1 & 2
LOTRO F2P - if you like a large, expansive, Oblivion style RPG with multiplayer on the side
    EVE Online

This is the game I was trying to think of. No offense, I hate Mass Effect. I don't know why, it just doesn't sit well with me as a good game.

I did think About SC2, but I want 1 player stuff. SC2 only launched with 1 campaign, and I'm afraid the Terran campaign might not last very long.

I used to play LOTRO, it's a great game don't get me wrong. But F2P took away some necessary leveling zones imo.

Torchlight is exactly what Diablo II was. Extremely outdated. Don't waste your time with it.
I would recommend System Shock 1&2 instead of Bioshock 1&2. That was the real thing. Bioshock is a graphically improved but severely dumbed down version of its predecessor.
EVE Online is the best MMO out there. there are many career paths so a lot of replay value.

Bulletstorm atm, one of the few games I've paid full price for and wasn't disappointed.

And of course on May 3rd, Duke Nukem Forever
