I'm genuinely frightened about if, the power plants do explode, how will that, if at all, effect the rest of the world.

The nuclear plant cannot explode.
And even if a full meltdown would occur, it wouldn't affect the world.
It would barely affect Japan.

Well, overall the Nuclear Plant seems to be under control? Not safe yet but it seems to be getting alot better.
