And Ozruk comes in with an overwhelming ~47%.
That just made me giggle a little bit.
Reading this, I realise that my pugs maybe haven't been that bad. The first few weeks, the people in pugs seemed to have a different mindset, there was an understanding that the fights were tougher than faceroll LK dungeons, and there was a will to work to beat the encounter, should a wipe happen. Fun times. Nowadays it's different, and people are back to the LK mindset. It's easy to forget how the boss seemed on your first try.
Corborus(?) was pretty bad before the add thing got nerfed, and Ozruk is horrid when people stand bundled up around him on shatter, or when the tank charges, flipping the boss before his shockwave (cough.) Dragha is to this day the worst boss, simply due to the fire elementals he spawns. Odds are, it'll target a melee and you'll have at least two dps tunnelvisioning the boss. Boom.
I'm actually a bit amazed that Ozruk takes 1st place tbh I would have thought, that bosses like Corla or even Beauty would rank higher. Cause on Ozruk you really just need the tank to not fail. I've been last bear standing with my healer lots of times, he doesn't hit very hard and he's rather easy to down even if 2 dps are dead.
The only boss in hcs i had problems healing was Temple Guardian Anhur in Pugs, cos players never learnt to kill the snakes and then like 20 snakes beating at the tank plus boss just drained my mana
Other - Corborus in SC.
For me it is really the most annoying boss in full PUG groups (which I don't do often, but still with some alts). They are so much retarded players who just CAN'T avoid the shards AOE and dps the adds after that... It depress me everytime.
On the otherside Ozruk isn't realy a problem.
Before he was nerfed, Baron Ashbury.
Whatever boss that needs some awareness, and you have group members who lacks it (most evident on Corla, Corborus and Ozruk).
PuG: Vanessa, obvious reasons
Guild: The one in GB with Valiona, we enjoy fucking with members more than downing him in one try (and yet, it usually still happens) via death/life grips.
Maybe I'm just a dick, but it's all in fun.
I think people need to take lessons from Netherspite. He'd like to have a word with your really bad groups. At least you actually had to switch out people for the beams for that fight. They simplified Corla to where only one person (if done correctly) can constantly either be in the beam, or stay out of the beam.
I think the boss I've wiped the most of before only going solely to guild groups is Ozruk. Only from the fact either the tank was stupid and didn't run out/point the boss in the correct direction, or the melee dps died from not running out.
Those who do not learn from the past are doomed to repeat it.
Melodi, Resto Druid
Ozruk will be most common group wiper for sure.
Alright, you guys jinxed me!
Last couple of days I've been getting Grim Batol random on both of my toons, and everytime were wiping on the third boss D:
BTW on the poll you mentioned
"Steelbreaker, BRC (Tank fail)" but Steelbreaker is an ULDUAR BOSS from the Assembly of Iron.
The boss you're searching for is KARSH STEELBENDER.
Personally I always PuGed heroics especially in Cataclysm mostly because there were very few 85s back in the first days of the expansion. I found the harder for PuGs to be "Baron Ashbury, Prenerf, SFK (Interupt fail)" since there's little you could do to help out the fails. I've literally been the last man standing countless times 'cause ppl just don't bother interrupting anything there. They go "oh I thought it was that other guy's job" or "wait lemme put interrupt on my action bar".
WoWWiki & WoWPedia: "Challenging Shout is an AoE taunt shout that costs 5 rage and has a 3 minute cooldown (as of 3.0.2). It causes all nearby enemies to attack the warrior for 6 seconds."
TenTonHammer: Challenging Shout - The panic button! - Taunts everything in a small radius to attack you for a short time.
WoWHead: Buff - Challenging Shout - Taunted. - 6 seconds remaining
I went through almost 6 tanks on Ozurk once in one heroic a couple months ago, that made me reroll my paladin and tank because I was so sick of how many bad tanks there are in WoW PUGs. I even learned how to tank it as a resto shaman if my tank dies (rockbiter taunt and just spam heal myself and make sure I dodge shatter / ground slam properly).. Although that strategy is last resort and comes down to if our tank dies to either ability before hand, when I go OOM we die T__T
None. I do not wipe unless some random idiot does something terribly stupid. And that happens for each and every boss sadly.
Erudax - Seriously, add fail... EVERYTIME
Ozruk - LoL, wonder how many melee will eat it this time
Prenerf Ashbury - FOR THE LOVE OF GODS INTERRUPT...
Other - VanCleef Dream phase. Running ahead at the start to die in fire, running back and pulling all the spiders, unable to Mario dodge the electricity, and finally not healing the worgen victims. Final Bomb deaths are pretty hilarious and sometimes make up for it though.
Only 2 things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the universe - Albert Einstein
Oneshot everything. Even when playing with randoms, at my gear I can generally heal them through any form of failure, especially with the 15% buff. Just yesterday the tank didn't seem to understand that steelbreaker shouldn't lose the debuff, so we had tons of adds on us at all times while it took ages for the boss to die.
If you can heal through stuff like ascendant council, magmaw etc, even failure at mechanics in HC dungeons is quite lax.
clearly ozruk. the day i get a random tank that knows what he is doing on that boss will get a big red mark in my calendar.
i havent run a heroic in quite awhile (dont really need the points) but i do remember if you dont have a knowledgable tank that ozruk causes alot of wipes
The riptide is free..but the GWH? Thats gonna cost you..
