Authenticator lost..

Hey

i recently lost my phone and just got a new one. Problem is that now i can't use my Battlenet account

got this email from Blizzard where they want me to send them a copy of my ID:

"- A legible photocopy of the identification of the registered account user. Only a government issued photo ID or Birth Certificate (minors only) will be accepted for the registered user. (School IDs are *not* accepted.)"

does anyone know what a "government issued photo ID" is ? is that like from my passport or ?

Drivers license/state ID/passport should suffice

Passport, identity card, driver's license, official government papers that show you are who you say you are.

Tryed the same, and i send them a scanned photo of my passport and my drivers license, and that was enough for them.

Hmm... I live in Brasil, and I haven't lost my iPod, but if I ever did, would a Brasilian government authorized ID work?

Just curious in case I ever end up in this situation...

I don't see why it wouldn't. In the EU version of the game I'm sure they have to deal with tons of different countries and their passports

Good point. Was just curious cause I know WoW isn't officially launched here... I think? At least there's no Brasil servers or anything, but just making sure I have that sorted out. Would hate to lose my iPod AND WoW account in the same screw up xD

Ahah! I did something like this recently, except I got a new iPhone and forgot to remove the authenticator from the old one. All I did was call in to Blizzard and they fixed me right up because I could confirm my intimate game information. Easy! Now my new authenticator is on and the customer service from Blizzard was excellent.

Always write down the authenticator serial number. Yes the smart phone apps have them when you first start them up and you can get to them through the menu options. If you write down the number, all you have to do is call blizzard (generally with just your secret question answer) tell them that number, and its off your account ready for a new 1.

Takes 10 seconds to write it down, and will save you hours of suffering.

And like you stated Birth Certificate if your a minor, but any ID with a picture should work, as long as it is issued by the government, I used my military id when I had gotten my new phone.
