CPU: Intel® Core™ i7-990X Extreme Edition 3.46 GHz
CPU cooler: air cooled CoolerMaster V6 GT CPU Cooler
MoBo: Asus Rampage III Extreme Intel X58 Chipset
RAM: (4GBx6) DDR3/1600MHz
GPU: Nvidia GTX590 SLI
PSU: CMPSU-AX1200 80 Plus Gold Power Supply
HDD: 600GB RAID 0
HDD2: 1TB RAID 1
anything else i could improve? *note* i dont plan on OC *at the moment* and i dont like liquid cooling because water and electricity... especially going at 1200 watts don't mix well

Unless you are planning on doing some serious image or video manipulation that system is WAY overkill, I cannot even think of how you are justifying a $1K processor that is now a generation old. a 2600K would be much cheaper and more than enough for gaming.
