Just got a blue screen of death a few minutes ago. I shut down my computer last night, it was working fine. I botted it up this afternoon and it got forzen on the windows logo when starting up. I reset it and booted again. 1 min or so after login I got the blue screen. Any ideas on how or why?
It would help if we had a little more information.
Do you remember reading any actual words on the BSoD?
To clarify, was it the standard "O hey, Windows couldn't start normally. Sorry bro" or was it something intimidating like "IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL" or something about a memory dump?

After the line that reads "A problem has been detected and Windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer", there should be an error message or some text. This is important.
Further down under "Technical Information" is some more good info we could use:
Stop: 0x_more_stuff_goes_here.
You can find the logs Start > Run > eventvwr.msc or
Start > Control Panel > System and Maintenance > Administrative Tools >
Event Viewer
The blue screen appeared and disappeared too fast for me to remember anything specific about it. Checking my event logs, there are only 2 logs from today.

although a BSoD is a pain in the a$%&, it reminds me of the good old days of windows 95/98 (ME...) when every time u insert a diskette or a cd u would get one :P
now with windows 7 I've barely see one in months...
dont worry about it, unless it happens more than once in a few amount of time.
The blue screen appeared after trying to install the new version of uTorrent, so that might be it. Also, the minidump file is a DMP file, which i have no idea what/how to open it with.
