    What would you upgrade?

    Hello there
I would like to ask for abit of help here. I would like to know if there is anything that you would upgrade, to play the newest games, like Crysis 2.
and if you wouldn't, how long do you think i should wait? and what would you upgrade it with?
    anyway my spec is this:

    Processor:
    2,40 gigahertz Intel Core2 Quad Q6600
    64 kilobyte primary memory cache
    4096 kilobyte secondary memory cache
    64-bit ready
    Multi-core (4 total)
    Not hyper-threaded

    Motherboard:
ASUSTeK Computer INC. STRIKER II FORMULA 1.XX

    Graphic card:
    Geforce 8800GT Alpha dog edition

    Memory Modules:
    4096 Megabytes Usable Installed Memory

    Slot 'DIMM_A1' has 1024 MB
    Slot 'DIMM_A2' has 1024 MB
    Slot 'DIMM_B1' has 1024 MB
    Slot 'DIMM_B2' has 1024 MB

btw, most of this information was taken from a program called Belarc
    i appreciate any reply

Crysis 2 isn't very demanding so I'd suggest a graphics card upgrade since the 8800GT is pretty outdated. A GTX 560 or GTX 460 should suffice(seeing as 1 of mine gets 50-60 fps in Crysis 2).

    ok, what about EVGA
GeForce GTX 570 1280MB ? if i didnt mind paying the extra money, would you recommend this one, over the one that you suggested? or is the diffrence not big enough for the extra money?

I'd make sure your power supply is up to the challenge because a GTX 570 consumes twice the amount of power as a 8800 GT. I'm more partial to ASUS or MSI though simply because of the quieter and cooler heatsinks.

Also keep in mind too that newer GPU's such as the GTX 570 may be bottlenecked by your Q6600 in games like Battlefield Bad Company 2, Battlefield 3(Possibly), Crysis 2 and other modern games that utilize Quad cores efficiently.

One thing worth noting here since it's a WoW fansite... For WoW a brand new GTX570 does very little. It will increase maximum fps, but minimum fps when the game lags the most in cities/raids will be just as slow as before, and that's because of 4 years old CPU.
Never going to log into this garbage forum again as long as calling obvious troll obvious troll is the easiest way to get banned.
    Trolling should be.
