I think I know the proper fire rotation, but what I can't seem to pin down is a general idea of what % of total damage each spell should be doing.
So - if I look at my WoL Parses - I know that, for example Pyroblast shouldn't be #1.
I assume that roughly 30-40% of the damage should be FB.
But after that I just don't know.
I realize that on movement fights, things like Scorch will be used more often, but what should be my general baseline? Combustion is a huge increase in DPS, but overall, it's not a massive increase in Damage.
On my most recent Atramedes (10) *Movement Heavy* I had this:
Living Bomb 943,763 20.0 %
Scorch 859,632 18.2 %
Fireball 768,752 16.3 %
Ignite 712,162 15.1 %
Pyroblast! 551,740 11.7 %
Combustion 381,079 8.1 %
Flame Orb 152,344 3.2 %
Fire Blast 126,751 2.7 %
Living Bomb 84,053 1.8 %
Pyroblast 75,201 1.6 %
Combustion 37,870 0.8 %
Fire Power 19,924 0.4 %
Without knowing the length of the encounters, drake combo, etc - I'm not sure I can offer much other than this comparison.
While I consider my knowledge of the fire spec very solid, my execution is not always top notch (the logs above came from low-sleep runs, with interruptions from my pregnant wife).
Hell, on my spec, I keep switching between 1/2 Imp Fire Blast and pyromaniac (currently, I have one point in each) and an argument could be made for each direction based on my raid groups positioning on *some* of the fights.
My rotation is the same as most folks'.
Keep Flame Orb up every opportunity (though recently I've been NOT using it during combustion to provide my own ignite-munch reduction), LB>PyroBlast!>Fireball, scorch during movement or anticipated movement (Atramedes is a good example of where I scorch far more than normal).
Like others, I lead with a hard-cast Pyro, follow up with MI if my tank is having an off night, then go into my rotation and use combustion with a big ignite if I won't need combustion in the first 2 minutes (I've posted elsewhere, that I've been saving it on Maloriak since doing ~1M damage to adds in the first green phase = sexy).
I'm not too good with all the numbers and what is good and what isn't good but I do see one thing wrong with your rotation. At no time during Atramedes should you be casting Fire Blast, and the only time it should be cast on Halfus is to spread your dots (I forget the procs name atm).
If you are moving the only spells that should ever be cast is Scorch, Living Bomb and Flame Orb (the latter two when off CD).
