Arcanotron will cast whenever his arcane school isn't locked out, meaning you should be using lockouts that are relatively close to one another. Any melee will be just fine, though rogues and Death Knights are really the "kings" (Death Knights due to Strangulate from range).

Make sure you're not using Wind Shear.
We're using 2 shamans since the start of Cataclysm, and have never had any problems with it. The point you're missing is that Wind Shear also has the lowest cooldown (5 seconds) so it's never a problem if the players know how to play.

We use a feral and a rogue for it, with our DK tank getting as many as possible as well. We got the no arcane annihilators getting off part of achieveatron on our first kill as well, so we just stick with that.

We also use two shaman for interrupts and it works incredibly well. Don't hate bro.

We use a DK and a dps warrior for them, with a shammy on standby incase something happens to either of the first 2.

    Wind Shear has
    • No GCD
    • A very low mana cost
    • Is ranged

I don't see what the problem is if you have good Shaman. You have them have a macro to set Arcanotron as the focus and to use it when he becomes active. Then they continue their normal rotation on whatever bot and a [target=focus] Wind Shear macro to hit every interrupt without affecting their DPS.

The issue is that Arcanotron's ability doesn't have a cooldown. Instead, he operates off the school lockout. The issue with Wind Shear is that it doesn't work with any other interrupter (you must have 2 dps shamans).

    Imagine a shaman/rogue interrupt rotation:

    0 - Arcanotron starts casting
    .75 - Rogue kicks (10s cooldown, 5s lockout)
5.75 - Arcanotron starts casting (5s remaining on rogue kick)
6.5 - Elemental Shaman kicks (2s lockout, 5s cooldown) - (3.25s remaining on rogue kick)
8.5 - Arcanotron starts casting (1.5s remaining on rogue kick) - no interrupt

10man, a shaman specced into reverb can get every arcane annihilator. 25man, 2 shammys specced reverb can rotate them

We use and have always used 2 shamans for this and have never had any problems related to lockout taken they don't interrupt wrong. Don't hate the wind shear

This. People saying the lockout is a problem are just ignorant. There's enough interrupts covered by this alone to get each and every cast.

FYI lockouts from interrupts are more there for the sake of PVP than anything else. They're nearly completely meaningless in pve, I realize this encounter is an exception but 2 shamans can interrupt nearly every single cast regardless.

Yeah, it has to be 2 shaman on 25-man.

You're right that Shaman + other classes doesn't work well.
