Mic is outputting my music... but not my voice. Please HELP!

first off, im using windows 7 64bit.
used speccy and this is everything in the audio tab that it says:
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------
    Audio
    Sound Cards
    NVIDIA High Definition Audio
    NVIDIA High Definition Audio
    NVIDIA High Definition Audio
    NVIDIA High Definition Audio
    Realtek High Definition Audio
    Playback Devices
    Speakers (Realtek High Definition Audio)
Headphones (Realtek High Definition Audio) (default)
Realtek Digital Output (Realtek High Definition Audio)
    Recording Device
    Microphone (Realtek High Definition Audio)
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------
I used a headset that is roughly 6months old and hasnt been damaged so i cant imagine the mic has broken.

Last night my friends and I were talking on skype while playing some WoW, and my mic worked perfectly. Today I woke up to someone calling me on skype, and I went to go answer the call. When I answered my friend and I instantly noticed that my mic is not working... sooo we decided that they talk and I type. After about 2 minutes I start to play some music and they all can hear it... but not my voice or any sound that goes to the mic. Tried it with Youtube,WoW and itunes... my mic picked up the sound from the programs (and website) perfectly, infact a little to perfect (idk if that has anything to do with.)

My mic is plugged in into the correct spot. Output for mic is not muted. Input for mic is selected and slided to full. Please help.

    You either
A.) Have Skype's input set to your speakers as opposed to your microphone.
B.) Got "April Fools'd". Check to make sure the input for your mic isn't in the speaker input on your motherboard, and vice versa.

In skype is there a way for you to pick your input and output devices? I noticed one day Ventrilo had picked my speakers as my input device instead of my logitech headset. That's the only thing I think it might be, but maybe?

    It could be this:

Go to Control Panel, Sound, Recording. Find the Stereo Mix and disable it.

Or someone didn't simply loop a lineout into your mic port in back.

    Start -> Run

    Code:
    rundll32.exe shell32.dll,Control_RunDLL mmsys.cpl @1
    Recording tab

    Take a screenshot.

Uninstall all your sound drivers and reboot. Then install them again. Had to do this with my HDMI setup.

Realtek has a smart detection system for which are which. Try rebooting and replug after it boots in, it'll ask you what you just connected.

Go get a cheap mic, and plug it in. If the cheap mic works, your headset is borked.
