This has happened to me on occasion back when I used my old 7800 card. Just restarting the client (or was it the PC?) fixed it.

I used to get that every now and then and I used to get screen tearing in Dalaran, I updated and everything seems 100% now.

This is from a memory leak and nothing else... Possible Causes... To many apps running at once causing VMs to cross each other. Memory going bad. Not enough resources set aside for your paging system (bigger hard driver = need more paging).
You have three forms of Memory. RAM, L2 Cache, and Paging System
Solutions:
Need to replace/upgrade Memory Stix
Increase Paging Resource (by defraggler or disk manager)
Run Cache Level Memory Test (repair)
