you are wrong about the 5870 card........ it is a enthusiast card and is still faster in some test then the 6970 card.

You know what, you're 100% correct. I don't even know why I put 5870 as a mid-range, it's definitely an enthusiast-level card...it's had been AMD's fastest card for a LONG time before the 6900 series came out.


But whichever test is seeing a 5870 faster than a 6970 is a seriously botched test.

In some games, it performs right along side the 6970, but overall, the 6970 is better. It's just pretty amazing that in a time of new and better architecture, the 5870 (and the 5970) are still some of the best cards you can get.
