Yup, and Boston gets a penalty 2 minutes into the game and the Leafs capitalized on the power play goal by JVR.

Andrew Ference is probably going to get suspended for elbowing Grabovski in the head, but it's too bad the blind refs didn't call a penalty. Kinda funny they had no problem seeing that stupid Phaneuf slash on Seguin. Gotta love the officiating eh?

Nasty elbow. Loving the pace of this first period but Toronto needs to clean up those giveaways. Reimer is playing well and if he keeps it up, he can carry them past Boston but they're just giving the Bruins the puck whenever. And what the fuck, Wade Redden lol.

  3. #16523
Fucking Redden should have retired when Ottawa put him on waivers and the Rangers didn't want him.

Lol, no one knows where the puck went. The announcers think it hit the goalie, the fans think it's in, the shooter and goalie have no idea.

  5. #16525
Bounced off the post. Also, lol at that non penalty when Kessel was tripped in the offensive zone when the refs were standing right there when it happened. Fucking tools.

Yeah, it could just as easily be 3-3 now. Kessel's shot was going in, til it hit a skate, and that crossbar hit was close.

The Bruins are winning, but they are not out-playing the Leafs

Kostka on the ice for yet another goal against. Why on Earth is O'byrne not playing?

Boston is bullying the fuck out of Toronto right now. Lupul and Kadri are invisible, Lupul until that 2nd period power play. Kessel hasn't done much either but that's expected vs Chara 24/7.

  10. #16530
Leafs have got to clean it up, quit trying be a bunch of fancy fucks and make the simple fucking plays for the love of god. Get rid of fucking Kostka and get O'Byrne out there, sweet mother of christ!

Sorry, for the swearing, BUT COME ON. This is frustrating as hell to watch when they are NOT playing the game style they did to get to the 5th seed.

Good question Juno. On the official boards, fans have been calling him Kost-us for the last couple of months, because he has cost us goals against far too often due to incompetence defensively. And it's not like the Leafs aren't trying, they just aren't putting in enough effort and the officials aren't helping things. If any good comes of this game, it will be that the league boots Ference out of the playoffs for that illegal hit on Grabovski.

They really need to clean up these give aways for the next game or this'll be a short series.

I have to agree, we've been dreadful with that lately. <_<
Bothers me a whole lot more than the lack of shots factor that everyone keeps bringing up.

But why look at more than shots when you get paid to write a newspaper article or work at NHL.com?

Didn't like refs calling back Bergeron goal. They should have blown the whistle if they thought the puck was covered, but they didn't; Even after the play no whistle sound came. Incompetent.

Didn't see the Ference hit, was only half watching the first due to some other stuff going on. But, if Ference does get booted for it, Hamilton will just step in to replace him, so it's not like it will help you out much at all.

As I said, I didn't see most of the first. But, damn did we play a great game through the second and third. Glad to see Kessel was his usual self versus the Bruins. The only shot you guys have in this series IMO is if he can actually produce, which he has never been able to do against us. And, for the love of god, stop complaining about the god damn penalties... They were even through the first two periods, they weren't going one way or the other. You didn't get more penalties than us until the third when Orr went after Boychuk for a clean hit and your team pretty much imploded from frustration.

Pretty easy to complain about penalties that don't get called. Kinda surprised Grabs didn't get a diving penalty in the first period when he drew that penalty cause it looked like a dive to me. Ference not getting called for an obvious elbow which was right when Grabs had lost the puck was fucking terrible and Kessel was blatantly tripped right in front of the eyes of the refs and it wasn't called. Phaneuf getting that slashing penalty was deserved to be honest. I stopped caring when the refs didn't call the trip to Kessel though.
