Fucking love what Buffalo is doing. Need to add a few more players but they could be right back in the mix next year. Eichel is fucking Lebron James on skates (not literally that big, but he plays like a freight train), I would bet on him for Calder next year over McDavid because I don't trust Edmonton not to fuck him up some how.

Sam Bennett will win the Calder next year.

Pretty stacked rookie class next year though, potentially McDavid, Eichel, Robbie Fabbri, Sam Bennett, Sam Reinhart, William Nylander, Nic Ehlers, Max Domi, Noah Hanifin, possibly Marner and Strome as well. Even guys like Jake Virtanen and Nick Ritchie could have good rookie campaigns too. Gotta remember that Eichel is still going to have to play with Buffalo, the best he'll get to play with is Evander Kane and that might not be that great of a line tbh. McDavid will possibly get time playing with Taylor Hall who is miles better than Kane too. I don't think there's anyway the Oilers can fuck McDavid up unless he gets a massive injury. He might not win the Calder, but the guy is going to be an incredible player.

Ultimately that trade though is pretty amazing considering it was just picks and no assets. Basically traded up for a clone of TJ Brodie.

Edmonton is going to be a lot better this coming season. Trading their 16th and 33rd overall to the Islanders for Griffin Reinhart is a big addition to their blue line.

We'll see, I'm skeptical of Edmonton due to the last few years but McDavid seems like he will be the real deal and at least Chiarelli is competent.

As far as I'm concerned Leafs couldn't go wrong with Marner or Hanifen, but Buffalo and Calgary won the day.
