they are only in front because they are winning there division...

no no, thats the SE. the Pacific will have 3 teams just because the NW will only send 1, and well...the Central is the Central. in short.
    NW - Sucks Sans Vancouver.
Pac - Average with 3 Playoff Teams who all will be worse than the rest.
Central - 1-5 sans 1 spot to Vancouver. (not playoff seeds, team strength.

Brian Burke's response to Cherry's rant a few days ago.

“Since I’ve been here we’ve drafted more Ontario-born players than anybody else. We’ve selected 10 players during that time from the Ontario Hockey League,” he said. “That, again, is the most by any team; the next (most) is eight. So the notion that we don’t like Ontario kids, that’s garbage. Why would the CBC let facts get in the way of an interesting rant?”

ok forgive me if this sounds stupid but: Not everyone in the NHL is American or Canadien.
does everyone in the OHL have to be from Ontario?

Doubt it, considering the OHL has three teams in the States.

Burke will never do what teams like Tampa or Edmonton have done. I do like both those teams, but I refuse to believe that either of them really tried to win near the end when they were at the bottom of the league in 2008 or 2011.

The Ontario Hockey League is primarily kids from Ontario, as most of the teams are based in Ontario. Where I live the only league I could*realistically*join would be the QMJHL which is the only league to have teams in the Maritimes. Obviously European prospect /Americans/other Canadians are in the league as well, but it is mainly Ontario kids.*

If you would have told me before the year that with under a month to go that:
    1) Dallas, St Louis, and Florida would be winning their divisions
    2) San Jose would be on the cusp of falling out of the playoffs altogether
    3) Montreal would be the second worst team in the NHL
    4) Toronto would have went from best in the NHL at one point to 12th in the East
    5) Ottawa would be locked into a playoff spot
    6) Pittsburgh would be the second best team in the East with Crosby only having played 2-3 games

I would have called you a moron.

It is going to be close, but I really think St Louis is going to take the division at this point. Detroit just has too many injuries right now and St Louis is playing the most consistent hockey on a night to night basis in the league outside of the Rangers. Detroit would still absolutely ransack the shit out of the Blues in a 7 game series.

Didn't watch the game so will have to find a Youtube video of it. Going just off the fact that it was Kron I'm guessing he left his feet on a hit (like usual), didn't get called for a penalty (like usual), and nearly killed the guy with a massive upper body hit.

    Better angle of hit: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L8T9s...eature=related
Wow he didn't leave his feet. So principal point of contact appears to clearly be the head. There was no intent to hit the player there as Kronwall's elbow is in, Voracek is just smaller than him. Voracek is partially at fault for having his head down for almost the entire play until right before contact at which point he turns his head forward, but it is at a lowered angle resulting in the bulk of the head collision. Seeing as there wasn't intent, positioning was a small problem, but the hit was clearly delivered to the head, I think supplemental discipline will be small although I don't know Kronwall's suspension history. I expect a game. Anything more than three will be surprising.

In the second video, Bill Clement is absolutely right. The refs should have blown that play dead immediately because it was obvious Voracek was hurt.

I can actually buy that. I thought they would be better than they are certainly, but if you told me Green would miss basically the entire season, Ovie would continue his downward slide, and the team would get play this year exactly like they did in the playoffs I certainly could see them on the outside or just barely in the playoffs. Washington is completely built on 4-5 wildly talented, but wildly inconsistent players. Those guys all have a tendency to shrink in the face of adversity. Not surprised at all they have fallen as hard as they have after switching coaches. I would not have guessed they would start off 5-0 (or 7-0 I forget) and then completely implode though.

the rule states that if the head is TARGETTED*AND the PPOC.
his head was not targetted, Voracek forgot the first thing they teach you in hockey.

According to the feedback section there seems to be an issue with some browsers that when you press space twice, a star is created. May be related to some versions of Chrome. Firefox 8 and on seem to be unaffected.
