What boss encounter(s) do you like the most ? (from vanilla to cataclysm)

As the title says.

Make a short list of your favorite (dungeon + raid) encounter(s) for each exapansion included vanilla. Comment why if you'd like to.


My list will be something like this.

Vanilla
Dungeon: Darkmaster gandling. I like the concept where you are being teleported awey from your group and then you have to clear your path towards your group.
Raid: Hakkar (I didn't raid that much during this period as I were not that active, but I got to experience MC + ZG with pugs.)

R: Mother Shahraz, Illidan, Kael'thas(pre-nerf), Kalecgos and Archimonde

Wotlk
D: The Lich King event in Halls of Reflection
R: Mimiron, LK, Thorim

D: General Husam, Lady Naz'jar
R: Magmaw, Council and Cho'gall


I've haven't been in touch with all raid bosses/encounters, but I based my opinion on what I've experienced.


Try to limit the encounters by 5 each Dungeon and Raid for each Wow period. (vanilla, tbc etc.)

Heroic Lich King. Difficult healing, very well tuned DPS requirements, and a reasonable amount of coordination required.

D: It's been a while and memories are slowly fading away, but fortunately i still remember some, so: Warchief Kargath Bladefist, Mechano-Lord Capacitus, Blackheart the Inciter are the ones i can still remember

R: High King Maulgar, Illidan Stormrage, Magtheridon, Opera Event, Reliquary of Souls...those 5 were on top of my mind at the moment :P but there are alot more i remember fondly, all in all TBC had the most memorable raid encounters ever in my opinion

WotLK:

D: Scourgelord Tyrannus, Keristrasza, Falric and Marwyn (and their epic quotes), Amanitar, Loken

R: Sartharion with three drakes, Algalon, Yogg Saron, Lich King heroic, Lady Deathwhisper heroic

Cataclysm:

D: Corborus, High Prophet Barim, Setesh, Erudax, Forgemaster Throngus...all before nerfs of course

R: Cho'gal, Halfus Wyrmbreaker heroic, Nefarian

Ohh, I forgot to mention him as one of my fav TBC bosses :< He was really funny when some outgeared the instance by 1-2tiers and some not, the result became the undergeared ppls got oneshotted

I can't remember how the encounters felt back then so it's quite hard to say. However I'd say killing Ragnaros for the first time felt pretty sweet.

TBC:
D: Probably the last boss in Underbog HC.
R: Lady Vashj, Kil'Jaeden, M'uru and Illidan are still my favourite encounters.

WotLK:
D: I didn't enjoy any of the dungeon boss encounters. If I'd had to choose which one was the most pleasent one, I'd say Commander Stoutbeard from Nexus HC.
R: Mimiron HC, Yogg+0, Algalon and Lich King HC.

Cata:
D: Erudax from Grim Batol.
R: Sinestra, Omnitron and Nefarian HC.

Battleguard Sartura as a tank. Concussion blow has use in a raid? UNPOSSIBLE!

So far my favourite raid boss has been Atramedes.

D: PvP boss in HMGT, sure it was a pain in the ass but it was new and helped groups learn what coordination was.

D: Forgemaster Garfrost. Wotlk dungeons were kinda bland...
R: Thorim, Valrithia, Mimiron.

D: Vanessa VanCleef.
R: Halfus, Maloriak, Magmaw (tanking adds as a Prot warrior can be fun)

TBC: Opera Event, Netherspite
WoTLK: Ulduar *I can't choose just one since I <3'd it all :3*
Cata: Omnotron Defense System, Atramedes

tbc ; for some weird reason i really like the fish up boss in SSC!
Wotlk ; yog 0 keepers & algalon , firefighter aswell .. and yeah LK fight is pretty unique
