    WoW Terms

I'd like to get your opinion on what these terms mean to you. I'm sure the meanings within the game are different for each individual.
    1. Hardcore (as it applies to a player)
    2. Casual (as it applies to a player)
    3. Noob / Nub (ditto)
Perhaps I'm opening Pandora's Box here but I really think that these terms get thrown around without any uniform idea as to what they mean.

Define - Hardcore: "Intensely loyal, commited, or serious."
Define - Casual: "Not showing effort or strain, without or seeming to be without plan or method, appropriate for ordinary or routine occasions."
Define - Noob: "A newb, newbie or Noob; refers to the idea that someone is new to a game, concept, or idea; implying a lack of experience."

  3. #3
Hardcore - Someone who dedicates time to the game.

Casual - Someone who play whenever their schedule lets them.

Noob - Someone who is new to what they are doing.

  4. #4
    1. Hardcore: Someone who plans their real life around playing wow
    2. Casual: Someone who fits playing wow into their real life without restructuring how their real life works
    3. Noob / Nub: Someone thinks they know a lot about the game but is awful and refuses to listen to anyone.

I think my definitions would be almost identical as these, because I consider myself casual and I perfectly fall under what they said.

Hardcore = Someone who plays the game all the time, WoW is more important that certain real life aspects
Casual = Someone that plays for fun, still can read up on bossfights and perform really well if the player is talented. Doesn't play much compared to the hardcore players
Noob = Someone that is new to the game ( Newbie ), still needs to learn what all his/her spells are about and what the game is about and how to perform well.

since they have been answered, i will give you a few more

pwn'd!-owned-roflstomped-insta gimped = Pretty much being destroyed in a hilarious or ridicules style i.e. a furry warrior 1v1 match

scrub-n00b-hunter = Your horrible at this game, you should die in a fire type of insult, mainly used to players like warriors stacking int gems to round out their stats as a tank, or a dk wondering why he cant equip a shield

roflmoaomglolololyousucknub/endlife = The typical pvp player who sees his/her/it's skill so high in the clouds, a simple miss click or "fat finger" (hitting your F and the side of your pointing finger pushes down the G key as well) will enrage the character, causing him to jump around you, doing an emote spam and forgetting all thought of ever achieving intercourse

Gearscore- Some servers used this method to rank a players capability, to my knowledge a few server still use this add-on, but it was a plaque among players, especially newbies (new players with a lack of experience or time spent to the game) who wish to better themselves

Clicker- One who activates his/her/it's abilities through the process of manually moving his mouse to his action bar and pressing down on the left mouse key, then releasing. Typically a newbie who has very little experience playing the game, though not always, Usaual exceptions may include: Click based add-ons such as grid, horrible caster players, the majority of the DK community, and on rare occasion 2200+ pvp players coughdruidscough

Backpedaler- Someone who presses down on the S key to avoid his/her/it's enemy, typically seen in pvp. These players are usually circle striffed (the action of circling your opponent, avoiding auto attacks and special abilities, negating damage and making you look amazing on warcraftmovies.com) to death. Usually done by a newb to try to run in pvp where a skilled player would strife. Backpeddaling is not always a bad thing, in pve it is used by tanks to avoid being hit from behind and moving mobs in a uniform line to get the maximum amount of mitigation (but can also strife as well)

L337 Sp3ak3r- Usually someone who plays fps games soooooooooo much a portion of their brain had melted to form leet speak, a quick and messy way to translate one of the easiest languages in the world into a collaboration of letters and numbers looking like the letter, this has also seen light in earlier years of the "fo shizzle" and "word to your mother" (who is quite the nice woman i hear)

Ninja- The act of stealing an item without pr omission or use, for example, a death knight stealing a shield for his tanking spec, outrolling a need roll and leaving group, leaving the prot warrior to drown in a pool of his own tears, and gnome blood. Another form is also known as ninja logging - the act of forcefully disconnecting yourself to seem your internet has failed AS THE WILL OF THE GOD HAS FORSEEN IT, typically a terrible thing to do, and usually frowned apon
