I'm trying to make my first addon, and if I understand correctly, it's possible to use images from the game files. The problem is, how do I browse through the images in the files and find the path to the one I want to use?

They are stored in the MPQs in the Data folder. You can browse them HERE.
To find the actual filepaths you can use a MPQ viewer like winmpq.

There is also a downloadable pack of blizzard's art somewhere distributed by blizzard themselves to addon authors ( but it might be outdated)

It also only extracts, and is outdated since the console commands became available.
I like to recommend this rather than the above, though.
