The two new Instances ZA and ZG

Hey guys, just a random question. Been extremely conservative and held off until the two new instances came out to pick up the enchants requiring 5 Maelstrom Crystals, just due to the fact it'll be free next week by farming those two and de'ing everything. A guild member of mine said something about he heard you can't actually disenchant the items from them. Anybody on the PTR that can confirm or deny for me please?

The consensus is that they will be disenchantable when ZA and ZG go live.

They are now, the rumor of them being not disenchantable was caused by the MMO database having the tooltip "cannot be disenchanted" on the items when they were first datamined. It has since been removed, however there are still many people who keep trying to say they aren't disenchantable :P.

blizz will probably gate this like they will probably gate epic gems. making them when de'd to turn into a shard or a 50% chance to turn into a lesser maelstrom crystal that requires 2-3 to turn into a normal maelstrom crystal

That is a rumor spread by children that are making money on selling maelstrom crystals so that people continue to buy them at their current ridiculous prices. Don't worry about it.

Were ToC5 epics disenchantable? Why should this be any different? The only reason it wasn't a "big deal" when ToC came out was because people had been farming Naxx and even Ulduar to an extent for crystals already, so they weren't still extremely expensive like they are now. Other than that the two situations are not very different, and precedent says they will be disenchantable.

This being the case... sell your crystals now/wait to buy them for the new patch, the prices will change dramatically!
