    Radeon HD5550

I listed older cards to simply give a frame of reference, below the HD5550 are the Geforce GT230 and lower, Geforce 9500GT and lower, Geforce 8600GTS and lower, and Geforce 7 and lower, as well as RadeonHD5450 and lower, Radeon HD4650 and lower, Radeon HD3850 256mb and lower, Radeon x1k and lower.

These numbers can be backed up at any major review site, tomshardware, Techreport, techpowerup, anad ect, this is a basic list, how it preforms in the games you care about isnt listed this is an average of the benchmarks, use this as a basic gague when asking how say your old 8800GTS320 compares or if you should upgrade to a Geforce GT520 for instance.

I would prefer it in a benchmark with % differences so I know how much better card x is than card y.

this is a basic list, you wont find a benchmark of say a 6450 against an 8800GTX this information is taken by looking at sevral reviews from the past and present and putting that information together into a basic list as I stated in the OP.

If only... It's missing the critical info of "how much better this card is than that one", which may lead into useless upgrades or false hopes.

Also basing the order on things like 3D Mark has no relevance to performance in WoW where for example GTX295 and Radeon 4870x2 will suck due to lack of DX11 support and poor SLI/Crossfire scaling of old cards in WoW.
Never going to log into this garbage forum again as long as calling obvious troll obvious troll is the easiest way to get banned.
    Trolling should be.

and you are completely ignoring the fact that the 5970, 6990 and GTX590 are dual GPU cards. Also, most benchmarks show that the 6970 is better than a GTX480.

Net to that, in order for the top 3 cards to compete with the rest, you'd need to compare them to a crossfire/SLI setup. A crossfire setup of 2 6970 is better than a single 6990. And in most games crossfire 6970 tends to be better than anything else because SLI still seems to having some issues when going to higher resolutions.

Next to that, WoW is heavier on the CPU and probably doesn't even support multi GPU setups.

Personally, I prefer a 2 cards with a crossfire/SLI bridge over a dual GPU card, since I'd imagine that a dual GPU card might hav some heat issues considering it probably only has one fan and heatsink??

This. Some cards could possibly beat out another card by minimal performance which would generally be a better buy to get the lesser rather than the greater.

The 4870x2 and GTX 295 can still run DX10 using shader model 4.0. They'll get near-identical performance increases since the main thing helping the D3D11 API right now is the improved memory management. The multi-GPU scaling is far from poor, too. Both WoW's game engine and the manufacturers' drivers have improved dramatically since conception.

OP is a moron, not only did he miss out SLI and get the list wrong, he gives false information about how you cant measure 2 cards directly

Look at real benchmarks ffs : http://www.anandtech.com/bench/GPU11/188

The list is correct according to mass benchmarking. He doesn't say you can't compare two cards in benchmarks, merely that you can't do it with this list.

Learn some bloody manners and not everyone cares about SLI/CF benchmarks.

Either way this thread doesnt need to be here.

No thread needs to be here if you use google.

This list is fairly accurate for the most part, but it should not be the only thing you look at when basing your decision. This list includes all single slot cards, not just single GPU cards. Performance will vary from game to game, direct x mode, resolution, etc and the list may not always be correct, it is a pretty accurate rough estimate.
