Can you acutally make money from home?

Is it possible, or just all scams. I know that renting out ad space on your website can make good money, however... I know basic CSS, and HTML but no clue what to build I site on and don't know any server side programming which means I would be able to create any super big website...

Anyone know of any sites that actually do pay money for online jobs, surveys and such that aren't a scam.

Thanks~ looking for some spare cash

If you're good at something that you can do from your PC and your phone, you most certainly can work from home. If you want to make a living from home, though, you've got to be the best at... whatever the hell it is you're doing.

There's plenty of them. Don't expect to get rich though. You'd make more money being unemployed.

    - Poker: risky but surely doable, but i wouldn't recommend it if you don't like to play it
    - Shares: everyone with some common sense can make money this way. Quite risky these days though, i'd wait a while till the economy i more stable.
    - There are also games you can make money with: League of Legends organizes a tournament where you can win lik 100$ each week for example.

Easy as cake, boring as hell.

It isn't worth the effort in most cases. Take these online surveys for example. You could be spending dozens of hours per week doing nothing but them and all you have to show for it is literally only a few bucks. You propably would get more money for time spent by going outside and looking for money from the street.

We sold and delivered car parts, especially tyres and 'cool' rims. It wasnt the best idea in the world, but I was left alone to think about it and I was watching alot of Top Gear at the time.

yeah, I've applied to Tim Hortons, and best buy and such. Mcdonalds is hiring, except I feel I'm a little above Mcdonalds. A couple kids from my school work there, they're all dope smokers who are failing they're classes and aren't very intelligent with no previous work exp. Meanwhile, not to sound cocky, but I'm straight A's, tons of volunteer experiences, worked before as a strawberry picked when i was little, and etc. I feel i'm a little above Mcdonalds. Not to sound cocky. :/

Would you mind sharing with me what kind of business it was? I've had a few projects of my own ( i'm currently 15 ) but none of them really succeed. I've got about £300 worth of advertisement from google at the moment that i can use( for being a partner for a long time ) but i really do not have any idea on any smart project what-so-ever! Would be great if you could help me out a little!

Well basically as I said above we sold and delivered car parts(by we, I mean me and my few employees) it was only available in Scotland since you know everywhere else was too far away for a just starting business.
I made the website myself and got paid to advertise actual car dealers(of anywhere) and some would advertise my stuff. It was all basically second hand stuff we sold and after 4 months I stopped from being busy and not interested.

It wasnt that good of an idea, there were bigger and better sellers for cheaper and we were limited to a small area. But it was a good heads up for me IF I wanted to make a business(which I dont)

I dont know what would be good for you, delivering brought little profit so unless you had plenty of time I would avoid that.

You have any ideas what you would be interested in doing?(in a general way)

Well, i love marketing and computer sience, but i also got a pretty big passion for gaming. My biggest project ever done was a website called Gamingtutorials with yea, guides for all the big games out there,It started out pretty good as the number of visitors / accounts created was rising the first 4-6 weeks and then it just ... died basically and stayed that way for a year when i removed my domain.
And well, my most succesful project was a anti-cheat software i created for a small Crossfire( a game ) league. Got about €100 for it, but well, i just had luck that they found my "lite" version of the anti-cheat on fps banana and hired me for their project. But really, i'm into almost everything nowdays

Hmm, if your gamingtutorials started out pretty good but died down, do you have any idea why it didnt work out? You could analyse and solve the problem for next time.

You can make enough money from home without being "the best".
The only problem is that there are no holidays or 8 hours workdays. When something needs to be done, you work until it's done, regardless of how long it takes.

Generally, if a work at home offer requires you to send them money, then it's a scam. A true employer will not force you to buy training materials or buy the things they're wanting you to resell (they'd ask you to sell it for them if it was legit).

Also, a lot of the "assemble at home" ones are scams as well. They'll make you buy the parts, which don't fit correctly together 99% of the time, and then they expect a perfectly assembled product when you send it in (and if it isn't they won't buy it back, leaving you out the money you paid for the parts).

That said, there are many work at home offers that are legit. Many over-the-phone customer services are people sitting at their home with an extra phone line in their house. Essentially they log in on their computer when their "shift" begins which activates their line and they go from there.

If you search work at home jobs, and are simply just not sure which are legit and which aren't, then google is your best friend. Simply search for the name of the company or offer with the words scam, legit, etc. after it and read the results. In the end though, scam or not, I will never personally go back on my first sentence---I automatically write it off as a scam if they expect me to send them money to work for them.
