Will a 600W Power supply do the job?

Hello, first of all. Yes, I do make a lot of threads about my new system because it's my first time building a computer by myself. (Much more fun & cheaper then just buying a complete system.) So anyway, my question is will a 600Watt power supply do the job for my new comp:

    Specs:
Hard disk: Hitachi Deskstar 7K1000 HDS721010CLA332, SATA 1000Gb
    Motherboard: Asus P8H67-M LX B3
CPU: Intel core i5 2500k Sandy bridge 3.3mghz ( Gonna overclock it a bit )
    Memory: 5g RAM DDR3 1600Mhz 4Gx1 & 1Gx1.
Case: Cooler Master HAF 922 ( 2 Fans included )
USB Devices: Gonna use about 3-4.
    Power Supply: SS-600ET ATX ( 600W )
Video Card: Nvidia GeForce 570GTX x1. ( May also overclock a bit )

I went to a site that calculates how much power you will need and It said I need around 550W, But I just wanna be on the safe side. Will this power supply do the job?

    Thanks in advance.

HEC makes junk power supplies. I wouldn't trust any hardware on one of theirs lol. You'd pretty much be guaranteed to blow the power supply if you overclocked at all I'd imagine.

The PSU is the backbone of any system so I advise NOT skimping on it.

I won't really recommend Thermaltake, nor will many others but that's just because of bad experiences in the past.

Here's one I can personally recommend:

Or if you want to save a few bucks:

600W is more than enough for your setup, but I would go with a better brand like Corsair. It's definitely worth it to shell out a little extra for a quality PSU, since typically PSU's are the first components to die. You'll get more longevity this way.

    Antec TruePower New 650
    Corsair TX650 or HX650

Few examples of non-shit PSUs for you.

More importantly, H67 motherboard can not be overclocked, you need P67 board.
Also are you sure you want small size (-M) motherboard?

    How about a SS-600ET ATX ( 600W ) Power supply

Edit: @vesseblah, will a Gigabyte GA-P67A-UD3-B3 Mobo be better?

If you're buying from Newegg, you probably can not find better deal than http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817371021

600 should be fine, but make sure it has the required AMPs for that card. It's not the wattage thats a concern but the amps. The specifications for the video card or its box will have that information on it. For Example my GTX 460 requires 38 Amps as well as it's wattage requirement.

Also, what are you doing running 5GB on two ram slots? You really want to run in single channel mode? Either run 2 x 3GB, 2 2GB, or 2 x 4GB, sticks (same brand and model) depending on what your motherboard can support up to. If you already had a stick of something sell it on Ebay and buy a dual channel set.

Single channel transfers slower than dual channel.

It says it supports the latest Intel + AMD Socket.
Edit: There's 1 problem with the Gigabyte GA-P67A-UD3-B3 Mobo tho, it doesn't support PCI-E 2.0, So it will slow down my GFX card.

Yes it does support it, single card will not be a problem. The main thing lacking from Gigabyte's UD3 is SLI. If you're sure you do not want to run 2 graphics cards as a pair, then it will be totally fine.

Nab, I suggest looking into the Asus P8P67 motherboards, I think like 75% of all Sandybridge owners have some form of an Asus P8P67 motherboard. The P8P67, P8P67 Deluxe, and P8P67 Pro are all suggested.

From user submissions on HWBot and Xtremesystems, so far all the P67's perform the same and overclock about the same (+/- 50mhz). The only differences are minor things like SLI/Crossfire and a GUI.

    It supports a PCI-E 2.0 card, but it's not PCI-E 2.0, that's what it says atleast.

I picked P8P67 Pro for 2 reasons missing from the regular P8P67:
    - support for SLI (probably will not use it, but nice to have)
    - better NIC (Intel instead of the usual cheaper RealTek chip)
