Sub-$600 Gaming Desktop Computer: Intel or AMD

Recently my laptop hit the bucket so I am in the process of buying a new one.

I want to build my own, but am unsure as to what mobo and processor would be good for a $600 dollar desktop computer.

    Heres my List thus far:

Rosewill CHALLENGER Black Gaming ATX Mid Tower Computer Case: ~$55

    G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) Desktop Memory Model F3-10666CL9D-4GBRL: ~$45

    Samsung SpinPoint F3 1TB 7200rpm: $60

    Antec EarthWatts EA-500D Green 500W ATX12V v2.3 / EPS12V 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply: $60

    Radeon HD 5750 1GB: ~$130

    Thank You!

Edit: No need for Windows as I have a copy of Win 7 HPrem.

    Sandybridge I5 2500k = 210USD
    ASUS P8P67 PRO = 190USD

    350 + 210 + 190 = 750 USD.

Wich is above his 600USD limit. However, if you can push it to 750USD i recomend this aswell.

Why are you recommending a "Pro" Motherboard to someone on a budget build?
    Intel i5 2500k
    MSI P67A-C43(B3)
    Or even...
    Intel Core i3 2100

The difference will be negligible if you'd rather save some money. Inb4 some misinformed lunatic comes in and claims i5 superiority in games, two cores is fine for a budget build.

Definitely looking into this as it provides alot of power and even some good OC whenever i decide to do it...

Is there anything comparable to this setup on Intel?

Not just comparable, better... The i5 and the MSI P67 motherboard will get up to ~4.7GhZ if you get a nice cooler. (Noctua NH-14 or GTFO.)

Of course the 2500k build is better, but it costs about 100$ more. I personally think it's worth the extra 100$, but he asked for a sub 600$ system.

That was more directed to Kail than the OP. >.>
The i3 2100 and a cheap 1155 motherboard will be on par with an AMD :<

Well my response was aimed at dajposkakac. i was simply stating that his suggestion would go way over the budget, but i still aprove of the I5 2500K and the Asus P8P67. IF he could push it to 750USD.

But for 600USD i go with Fuzzykins on the I3 CPU and a cheap 1155LGA MOBO.

i3 2100 and a cheap P67 board will match a K10.5 system, and leave you open for a 2500K in the future if necessary.

Always find it funny when people pair a 2100 with an H61 chipset like it's a requirement or something. These aren't Clarkdale chips guys.
