If that's the situation, you still have to tack on the price of a mouse for a laptop. GL using the touch pad for gaming

I do believe that it was already stated the price of a mouse was to be excluded from both calculations.

So, show me a desktop for 700€ that includes an optical drive, a HDD, case, PSU, a comparable CPU and GPU, 8Gb 1333Mhz RAM and a keyboard and a monitor. Mouse can be omitted since that has to be bought for a laptop too anyways, no one sane plays with a touchpad.
unless i'm mistaken, this GPU is roughly equivalent to a desktop GTX 550ti which is a pretty cheap GPU at more or less 150€... starting from that, getting a 700€ computer wouldn't be much of an issue at all, but don't expect to have a monitor included unless you buy some cheap crap.

including a monitor in a desktop computer price doesn't make sense anyway imo considering the price range.

I'm digging this game so far, its combat system does appear to be a little more involved and action-based than SWTOR. The major gripe I'm having with this game is its endgame content (or lack thereof).

More specifically, the lack of instanced raiding. It's the aspect I enjoy the most in a MMORPG. I love logging on with 9 or 24 other friends and having a blast on vent while we down some bosses. I know they will be adding 5-man dungeons to this game, but it's not the same. I hope ArenaNet change their minds and add raids. I do plan on buying this game regardless, but I fear that I'll hit max level, do some dungeons and some PvP and then get bored and go back to SWTOR/WoW.

Why can't you go and kill a world boss with those same friends? The game already prevents random people from griefing you with the loot system and sidekicking, and the scaling AI takes players out of the equation if they're bad enough.

And I hope that remains the case. I would love to play a game that actually IS different from the mold, not just claims to be.

They have "raids" in their dynamic events. I hope they don't bring back raids proper, because in all honesty while they can be fun, I found that most of the fun I had while raiding was because of who I was playing with. If I played with the same people doing smaller content (5 mans, questing or PvP), it would have still been fun.

And the entire game is "end game". They don't want to make their game like others, where you are funneled to end game, at which point the game changes completely.

Why do people want raiding in GW2? Seriously, people come and ask about GW2, then whine when it's actually different to standard MMO's, god forbid Anet actually are keeping their word and been different!

I hope raiding dies with GW2. I don't think it's fun to spend 4 hours wiping on a "progress" kill for a few days each week. Then raid loot causes more issues than anything else, since every raid guild has loot hungry people in it, and people that are utterly bad yet get carried through everything.

Why cant you have blast on vent while downing bosses in these events? Plus added bonus with these dynamic events is that you can have blast on vent with any number of guildies and friends instead being locked to certain raid size. There is plenty of mmos with raiding as end game that compete from same player base. Anet wants players go do these events in world with their guildies and friends rather than having players hidden in instances.

Quick question I have a laptop but I was looking for a Desktop to play GW2 on, but since my money is limited what is the best I can get for 500-900(US dollars) that will run this game as close to High Settings as possible. Thanks in advanc =D. a

And yes I know I could search but I'm not the best at PC parts compared to some in these forums =D.

what is it about instanced raids (because GW2 has open world raid bosses and DEs) that you actually enjoy? is it the "player perceived" difficulty or just having more people in the group with you?

There's no system specs announced yet, so nobody can give you a best bang for buck PC yet, and new CPU/GPU should be out before GW2, so I'd personally save your money for now an hold off abit longer.

    Also these threads on GW2guru has some theroycrafting on the specs going;
    http://www.guildwars2guru.com/forum/...re-t10381.html
    http://www.guildwars2guru.com/forum/...ts-t11373.html

Though I know it's hard to recommend a bang for buck PC in the US due to the rebate things you guys have constantly changing.

Would you be willing to learn how to build it on your own or buy one already put together

Many computer sites have their own "brands" of home-guild computers usually the fee isn't that high.

It's not the same thing. For starters it would only take like what? 20 minutes? Then what?

Also, being a world boss means that the fight itself won't be challenging enough for the hardcore players since there will be novice players mixed in that will also like to down that boss. They will be adjusting for numbers but they won't be adjusting for skill (like normal/heroic difficulty).

I like the tight guild communities that are formed from raiding instances. From what I've seen from public raids, it'll just be X number of strangers grouping up for 10-20 minutes until the dragon dies, looting their share and then going off their own way.

Try www.ukgamingcomputers.co.uk [if you are UK] you can cater the specs you want and buy individual parts for pretty cheap, I got mine from there after some guidance on what you need to improve performance and its been great running WoW/RIFT on high settings.

Edit: And oh my Gawd, George you have to change your avatar back, or put the beaver somewhere in the sig! My head is so full of fuck right now.

No its not a huge fee but if your trying to maximize bang for buck its best to build on your own
