I'm going to sticky this for now. It still has great info and should not get lost in the mix.

And quit talking about me. I can hear you.

    Hooray!

And hey, at least it'll probably help alleviate the same questions getting asked over and over again.

Its nice to have some organization for info and gameplay videos since this thread was lacking a active op.

And now it may attract more people for us to spread our wisdom to!

Glad to see my two future favorite games (GW2+SWTOR) get their own forums here on MMO-Champion.

Why can't we mention horrible illnesses here?

I mean, Silk Worms Taking Over Rectum is a very serious and deadly disease thousands of people experience each year. I am glad he brought it up to bring more awareness to this atrocity.

Due to the people still mistaken in their hope for Monks, or because you'll never get a dervish with chakrams?

Some folks just can't let go of the Monk dream can they.

Ever since Everquest I've had a love for Monks. It would be awesome to see them in GW2 or at least an expansion pack.

So I have a question that I am guessing cannot be answered but I will ask it anyway. In wow when I played the rogue I loved how if you made the slightest mistake it would turn the battle around and made things harder for you. I guess I enjoyed having to know what ability to use in what situation. Does anyone know if there is a profession that has to manage their abilities like this? I am not sure if my question was clear just let me know.

EDIT: This is coming from a pvp point of view.

Thief will be exactly what you want.

No CD's on your 5 weapon skills, but instead they cost initiative to use. You have 10 initiative skills ranged in cost, so if you use skills too fast, you could end up in a bad spot, though a good Thief will know when to use which skills, and when to be in close and when not be.

Anet describe the Thief as a profession that jumps in and out combat, dealing alot of damage quickly, but if you stay in combat too long, you're quite squishy.

You have lots of skills which bounce you in and out of combat, aswell as lots of skills to bring emenies to you, or get away.

Here's a good Thief video for you to see some skills in action, although he stays away from typical weapon setups you see on Thief (Dual dagger/pistol).
