it looks really fucking good. the two on the left even look like they are repin' the same guild (color scheme at least). the detail on the Charr is incredible, you can see the folds in his/her mask and we already know that anything that can free flow has physics in the game so i can just imagine how good that will look in motion. the female norn looks very good too and i never thought a Mike Tyson tattoo could actually look good, but it does. her armor detail is pretty damn good and the fact that it moves and isn't just some cardboard stapled on really sells it as actual functional armor. then the atmosphere ties everything together nicely with the light and the water effects, reflections and distortions. looks very Grove-ish to me with the whole bio-luminescence and early morning light glow, it gives it a very "magical" quality. Bravo Arenanet!

obviously the screenshot is from a press release as there is a Sylvari on the far right but i do not remember seeing this at all. def one of my favorite along with the greatsword Asura and pistol wielding Mesmer.

Hm, seems slightly in poor taste [and confirmation of my earlier thoughts on the pre-purchase] Anet are giving away beta keys for only the 2nd BWE so far.

The reason they didn't give away keys to the first was because they sold more than they thought they would...I guess with the extra servers added recently they have excess capacity. They just want to test to their maximum capacity.

Not necessarily. They had these single-weekend-keys out for the last BWE, the only difference is those ones were given out as freebies from PAX.

Any idea if they're doing anything with the ruins of Nolani Academy? I'd hope something can go on, with the ghosts spewing from there constantly. My GW1 character had a lot of history there.

I don't see any problem with them making money tbh. If access to betas is used as an incentive......I don't consider it blind-siding.
I don't believe they lied when they said they had more pre-purchases than they imagined they would...and it pushed their capacity. They no doubt would have given out keys for BWE1 if they had excess capacity.

Yh they did..but not that many. And they were given out before BWE1 was announced I think. The BWE2 keys are quite different in how they're being done.

I really don't get it. These PAX tickets were given to a select group of people who attended. It's not like Anet announced pre-purchase...then said they're also handing out a bunch of "free" passes. I say "free" because I assume PAX costs money to attend? Although visitors didn't pay Anet directly...still seems strange to call it tasteless.
I don't see any hypocrisy here. By no means would everyone who pre-purchased gotten one of these keys, and BWEs are not the only incentive for pre-purchase.
Kinda feel this is molehill > mountain.

Which server is the most populated? I would like to know the Illidan equivalent server on GW2. (If there are West/East coast servers, listen one for each.)

The game hasn't been released, and during the beta all the servers were at max or near max capacity for the data center's time zone's peak hour.

Oceania uses the US data center, so the US servers were full for most of the time. The Europe ones were usually at around low or medium when it was like 5 am there.

Illidan is a server on WoW.

Yeah, and at the opposite time of the day it was actually the other way around. During peak UK times, US was down at low/medium.

I'm talking about what HE/SHE means by it. Is it some kind of PvP-oriented server with all the best PvPers? Or does it have a strong raiding population? Or maybe it's a good RP server? Maybe it's a server for people from a specific country, unofficially? etc etc etc?

It's because there are people out there complaining "Wtf, I have to pay you to be part of the beta?" because they want to try out the game without first paying for it, even though there's plenty of available media to show them what they'd be getting into.

Gods, if people can buy Skyrim or Diablo 3 without getting a trial of the game, why can't they do the same with GW2?
