Lobotomized kitten or no, the fact of the matter is, you had to be standing perfectly still to be hit by a Backstab. In or out of combat, you'll still outpace the stealthed person, and to actually hit someone with that from behind to do real damage (instead of a sneeze), it wasn't really feasible against anyone that knew what they were doing (and if you somehow didn't see a Thief coming before they stealth, I would have to commit blasphemy by telling you to turn the porn off while you're PvPing at least). It's weird to say, but even just running forward keeps your back the least exposed, neutering Backstab's effectiveness.

It was a little too powerful under conditions in WvW that shouldn't/will never be balanced. But the only time a person of any skill should be dying to a Backstab crit is if they were already outmatched by something else like a Warrior stun (but the same could be said about Hundred Blades being used effectively by a Mesmer pistol stunning you first).

They didn't actually change Heartseeker again, did they?

If you're fighting a keyboard turner...

you'll still outpace the stealthed person
33% Stealth speed increase + passive 25% speed increase. You actually move faster in stealth, in combat, than out of a stealth.

Oh looks like they finally fixed that Timberline Falls bug. I don't remember when the game launched anymore- but it was broken for a long time.

I felt like that with my Mesmer. I just didn't enjoy it. The moment I switched to Engineer I started having a blast. I think it's really important to play the right profession for you.

do the XP boosts stack? for example if I eat one food crafted by a Cook will it stack with one crafted by a Weaponsmith? Both giving +10 xp I think.

I do not giving a flying fuck about anything added to Guild Wars except this now:

The single most significant addition to the game for me.

Recently I have been bugged about how outdated the transmutation stone mechanic is in this kind of game that relys a lot on looks and appearance. To be honest, it's a pretty 'huge' step back from the original Guild Wars who had costume tab, which takes me into that you should be able use your costumes appearance, but with your current stats.

There should be appearance slots at the side of your equipped gear slots.

I believe ArenaNet would earn more money if they sold costumes like that, and have appeareance slots, and costume maker NPCs, instead of having transmutation stones.

Quick question to confirm something. I'm going to be spending a lot of time running AC and I'm wondering if the superion sigil of ghost slaying affects condition damage abilities. I assume it does, but I couldn't find confirmation.

Also... Does anyone know if it's possible to get an exotic Vitality Toughness Condition damage gearset?

Also... Does power affect the explosion of Mesmer damage clones?

How can you even complete jumping puzzles like that. And when im strafing in combat i thought it was really annoying to have to double tab as you need to stop moving for 0.3sec. to be able to double tab.

No i prefer my mouse button so i can have my fingers do the moving =)

    @Cyphran:
Power (and stacks of Might) does infact affect Mind Wrack (and the upfront damage of Cry of Frustration as well). Sigil of Ghost Slaying does also affect condition damage abilities, but as you can guess, only on ghosts.

As far as that gearset, no idea. Vitality isn't really a stat I put a lot of weight into, Toughness and hefty condition removal outweigh the need of a buffer zone like higher Health Pools. If we're talking Mesmer though, Condition damage isn't really worth gearing for. The only "condition" damage weapons that we have do more with Power than they do Condition damage, so if you're gearing Condition damage, you still want the power alongside it, rather than in lieu of it (if that makes sense? I'm short on sleep atm).

Im surprised you dont really rate condition damage.

Im in masterwork gear atm but I have good toughness and a little more vit than I need but I plan to lose it from my gear. Im surprised you say Mesmers dont really benefit from cond damage though. My staff bleed does 730 and its burn does 700. My torch's burn does 1700 while the sceptre's confusion does 1400. Staff poision is a few hundred too but I cant remember just how much.

I have 25 points in toughness so I get 5% of that as cond damage. I have 6 undead runes too so I get 180 cond damage and another 5% of my toughness. I have bouncing attacks too so I can rack up staff debuffs pretty quickly. I also run shatters causing confusion and shatter effect on you which means I can drop a damaging 8stack AoE confusion in short order.

I dont have as much damage as a swords build, but Im super hard to kill and Im constantly applying mass conditions.

    Its a fun spec.

Cond damage works, if you learn to live with the fact that you're only really going to see Confusion dmg being worthwhile (stacking bleed isn't reliable nor is burning/poison) If you use the glamouring something something build someone designed for WvW you can actually hurt most bosses pretty hard aswell, the downside is that slow hitting bosses aren't affected by confusion at all.

But it doesn't matter since just bringing TW makes a mesmer pull his weight (+portals to skip stuff)

I prefer the double tap. Its way faster than using V or or some other keybind. I use my middle mouse button for ventrillo.

Have yet to dodge roll off a jumping puzzle or ledge. I have used my leap/charge abilities to my death. But never dodged off a ledge.

I have rarely seen botting as blatant and rampant in an MMO as in Guild Wars 2. Can't even go trick or treating because they are ruining every zone from Queensdale to Orr. -_-
