    It's a prime lens ( = no zoom), so I achieved the desired effect by tilting the tripod. The tripod simply tilted back a bit when I was no longer concentrating on "zooming" smoothly.

    IIRC the guy without a belt (who i fought in the semi's) was a black belt as well, i was more surprised because i entered on a whim - why not? type thing, it wasn't until i saw this picture crop up on facebook that i realised the size difference between us as well =/
