I was stationed in oki in 2008-2009. Nice little island with alot of interesting history but not a ton of stuff to do. I saw every site/shrine/zoo/castle/capital in a week. No social cafes, the locals dont really like americans and look down on anyone who dates / married a sailor / marine / airman. The clubs were ok but only 1 out of 4 had people in on very specfic times and dates (its like they rotated) and the local club "Bait" was gross. Many of my marines came to see me in the clinic on monday because someone left them with an itch / burn that weekend.
Oki was a bootleg japanese exp that left me with a bad taste for japanese culture.

aww thanks He really brightens up my day when I get home from a long day at work. He does get the funniest expressions - recently he's discovered his eyebrow muscles and will scowl while babbling and makes him seem like he wants to have a serious discussion. Other times he will raise his eyebrows and it's like he just wants to ask a question or something.
He made me laugh when I tried to give him a pacifier the other day: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=10151149105976927
So, turns out I'm going to the mountains for Christmas. Yay skiing and awesomestuff. Except there's going to be pools and hot tubs to relax in, at the hotel. And there's Hotsprings around too. I may be prepped for skiing, but I was definitely lacking in what to wear for this. So.. uhh.. I went out and bought these uhh... swim... things.

The problem with the internet is parallel to its greatest achievement: it has given the little man an outlet where he can be heard. Most of the time however, the little man is a little man because he is not worth hearing.
