Yeah could be, he does look like a friend of mine who is from South Korea. And I love that whole series of vids, the "if Hispanics said the stuff White people say" is pretty hilarious too. Also sad and infuriating because all of these microaggressions happen on a regular basis. :/
I actually don't see much of what that video parodies, other than being in to asian women. I also can't tell which part of Asia someone is from but its not really something that I wonder about. I get asked all the time what my background is, mostly people ask if I'm persian or mexican.
Pff my friend is Vietnamese. I actually don't look completely Japanese because I'm 1/4 Vietnamese as well. :P As for Asians being beautiful, I don't know, I think it has to do with attraction to the exotic. While I do find Asians to be nice looking, I find non Asians to be equally as nice looking.
>.< shhhh
AHHH you're right!!
Eugene is indeed Korean. I never really hold it against people when they mistake exactly what type of Asian us Asians are because I know it can be hard to tell.
Sure, but I'd def say that, between the whole attraction to exotic thing and media in general, Asians tend to fit more into peoples ideals of beauty? Plus, at least with Japan, there's a much higher standard towards personal grooming and stuff so, least from what I've heard.
Yeah it's because depending on how hard your name is to say or write, when in English speaking countries it's just way easier to use an English sounding name. Some even get their names legally changed. My name isn't even that hard to pronounce at all but I have had so many issues with it that I have adopted Katy and just use that. It's a lot easier for people to say and remember and it's decently close to my real one. Of course I use my real name if it's for anything really important or if I have to for whatever reason.
Same here. To the untrained eye, it can be bad. I offended a Nigerian classmate by asking her if she's Somalian (most African immigrants at my college are Somalian). It's actually quite amusing hearing questions similar to those in their series of "Things White People Say" videos. There tends to be a mutual respect in discussions that evolve our understanding of each-other's cultures even if its Californian versus Southern culture.
Being hit on with the stereotypes, on the other hand, have all gone bad for me as there is a general expectation based on these stereotypes.
Me neither
Maybe change the facial hair up a little depending on what you feel comfy with but I am not seeing an ugly guy, at all.
What I do think is that sometimes attitude and compure and how people perceive you because of that plays a role just as big in attraction. If I slouch I immediately make a different impression than when walking upright. Maybe thats something to work on Gam?
