I think someone else may have helped answer this. It is indeed the HK 416. As for the barrel, yeah, its been shortened, 10.5" Free Floating. The rail replaces the heat sheild (hence the pistol grip, the HK is Gas/Piston rather than Gas Blowback, so it gets warm), and is a 4-way Picatiny mount. It's chambered with the 5.56mm Nato, same as the typical M-Series we use in the US Military. We beef it up with Matchgrade rounds, rather than just plain ball rounds.

As for the garb...despite the civlilian look, US Army.
