    Math lulz

This thing is mathematically true, actually.

    Post more lulz from maths!

Edit: some people been asking, so, basically, it is 1 because 0 to power of 0 is one by the rule that anything in power of 0 is one (even the zero itself).
All that n belongs to real numbers and the sum just to make it look stylish

Not sure either... Boner = 1? :/ Not sure how you'd see a B in a capital sigma though.

notbob, there is a rule that anything in power of 0 is 1. even the 0 itself (just to make mathematician's formulas work).

Its kinda same weirdness by which 0! (zero factorial) is 1 too.

or, when you calculate entropy (information), you have a formula which involves logarithm, and when there is no entropy, you would be taking a logarithm of zero, which normally results in an error. but, again, for the sake of things not breaking down, by convention they decided to make log of 0 there equal to just 0.

Well, 0^n is 0 unless n=0, in which case it is 1, so the picture shows a sum of indefinite number of zeros and a single 1

and nice pic, I also think it should fit the topic nicely science ftw.

woops mixed that up. it's late here 0^n isn't necessarily 1, n^0 is. Sorry .

    3/3 = 1
    1/3 = .3~
    3*1/3 = .9~
    3/3 = .9~
    .9~ = 1

    Classic.

    3*1/3 = 1, not .9~

    1/3 = .33333333 so 3 x .3333333 = 1

    Yay for tricks that 1/3 = .3[COLOR="red"]
