Do you hate the Miami Heat?

Obviously the Miami Heat are blowing up in popularity but that doesn't mean they don't have their haters out there too. I have to say I'm definatey on the bandwagon but then again how can you hate a team that has Chris Bosh, Dwayne Wade, AND LeBron James on it? They are a reality dream team.

So what are your opinions on the heat? Like them? Hate them? Why? Just like to see how others view them.

They were my favorite team two years before they won the NBA finals, now I feel like I don't like them anymore because everyone else does >:|

That's very understandable. Don't worry I know I'm not a diehard Heat fan or a lifelong one by any means. Really it's just the fact that I really liked Lebron Bosh and Wade before they got together so it's hard not to like them because three of my favorite players in the league play for them.

As far as being a fan way before any of this I say keep being a fan. I've been in similar situations with a favorite sports team and it definately sucks at time. Just realize that you've been there before they got this good (not saying they wern't good before) and you'll still be there after in the future they lose these guys and have to start over. The fake fans (me included as I'm not a true fan of the Heat nor trying to say I am) at that point will be nowhere to be found.

    This!

Been supporting Miami since 2004 but it seems like I'm not that passionate with them anymore even though the roster is the best we've had in a long time. >.<

I can hate them because Bosh is softer than charmin, LeBron is overhyped and is horrid in close games and Wade is only one dude.

LIke them much better when it was just wade. I will consider the heat lucky if they don't get swept. The Celtics have too much experience, too much bench, too much defense when it's needed and they do win close games. The Celtics have RINGS!, does any of the heat have rings? I know Lebron and Bosh doesn't...not sure about wade (I think he won a ncaa ring, but can't really remember).

Lebron is WAY too full of himself right now, when they can get together as a team and actually play as a team, they will be scary as hell. With two big alpha's like wade adn lebron, neither wanna be Pippen. That's just my take

Wade kind of lead the team to win the NBA finals in 2006 by himself.

You've never actually watched a basketball game have you?

The series is likely to be a defensive slugfest and come down to whoever can avoid a stagnant halfcourt offense the most, but there's a lot of variables that can play a role. Boston's bench has been atrocious as well. The real key matchups will end up being KG vs Bosh and the PG spot. Although the Celtics will be in a good place if Pierce can finally produce a bit against LeBron.

I think he still lives in the world where the Heat were 10-8 and struggling to mesh. Then they ripped off 22 wins in 23 games. Wade and James haven't had issues at all playing together and Bosh has really gotten integrated over the last month or two. The only problem is both of them are better with the ball in their hands then working off the ball. Those issues can all be solved with coaching and time playing together. Lebron has 0 experience of playing without the ball until this season. He was the man in high school. He was the entire team in Cleveland. I expect them to lose to Boston just because of their experience, and tendency to have refs miss call after call, ala Knicks games one and two, and the Heat missing a couple pieces from being unstoppable.

I have watched NBA games since the Shaq monster started (1991 if i remember right), I know basketball. Have you seen how the celtics can just LOCK a team down. The celtics SWEPT the knicks (a team with two star players, and one crazy good pg (billups i have loved at every team he's played at). I know CB was hurt and out and it might have been different, the first two games were luck, and experience. The Celtics know how to win a close one. How are teh Heat in close games? 1-12 if i remember right.

And i mentioned I thought wade had a ring, i actually didn't watch much of the playoffs after the pistons crazy good run there for those couple of years. I got sick when they traded big ben, I think that was 06, i stopped until late 07 when ray ray and KG got to the celtics. Been a fan of them since. That fuels a bit of my hate, you gotta hate the team your team is playing

But once the heat actually come together, and get a couple more good players or just gel as they are...those fuckers are gonna be insanely scary. Put Dwight howard in there, ship bosh out..and goddamn i wouldn't want to play em.

On a side note, The hawks just sent the magic home, it's been a crazy start to the playoffs this year. The Spurs are going to get beat by the timberwolves..that's just crazyness. Only other thing in the first round that would make me happy is the lakers getting forced to a 7th game.

All this aside, you asked why i hate em. Doesn't mean I hate you for liking them

I dislike all basketball teams equally.

But yeah, I'm really fed up with the Spurs, hope they get curshed in game 6.

Duncan made me sad in game 5. He just looked so old.

Anyway, the Knicks aren't a championship contender like the Heat. Miami actually plays stellar defense and is one of the better rebounding teams in the league. If you want solid arguments for how well Boston can match up with Miami: Ray has a tendency of going off when being guarded by Wade, because Wade gets lazy on fighting through screens or loses him in transition. Pierce is one of the best LeBron defenders in the league, although his own production suffers from guarding him. Rondo has the potential to pick apart the Heat for stretches. Meanwhile Miami hasn't consistently beaten a Thibs defense this season, which'll be a big challenge for them.

LeBron and Wade are fairly good off the ball really at this point in the season. The real problem is a lack of consistent effort off the ball. Wade can run off-ball curls and backdoor cuts really well. LeBron's postgame is solidly developing. Granted it's ugly like Shawn Marion's jumper, but it's pretty effective.

Miami can suck a fat one, especially Bosh. What a pompous tool, he was treated like a king in Toronto and well respected, then he turned around and gave a big Fuck You to the entire franchise and the fans by not resigning. It's like Vince Carter all over again, only Vince was far more of a crybaby.

At least he didn't make you sit through "The Decision". That was one of the stupidest thing I've ever seen.

I'm partial to heat, Miami heat is fine since it's near the beach but any heat is fine with me. Yeah, I've been known to love sweating, but boy do I hate the cold.

Sixers are the only team in the NBA with any class. They're a fun team to watch even if they're losing just because they're good guys led by a quality coach which makes them easy to root for. Lebron will have a rude awakening when he's past his prime and his ego trip comes to a screeching halt.

    That should suffice.

Also, until actually reading this thread, I thought you were talking about the temperature in Miami.
