Spriest 4 set bonus

Does it really suck that bad?

Would I be better off wearing the Mantle of Roaring Flames and the Flamebloom Gloves instead of the T11 shoulders and gloves?

Pretty much I lose the 4-set bonus in favor of 62 more haste...and I dont know where to see in the combat logs how much damage my shadowy apparitions do. I can see how much the shadowy apparitions do, but I cant tell if those are mine or the other shadow priest in our raid.

It's poor, but worth wearing 4piece for, even if you can replace tier piece with 372.

It's pretty bad, but the math says it's better then anything now.

I will admit, making your little shadow things hit harder is kind of dumb.

You'll notice probably a 1k increase in overall dps from it, 2k on heavy movement fights, at least I did. Of course, no one else will see it cause the amount of dmg we do with our shadowy friend is our little secret that no other recount can know about!

I do make it a point though to strafe whenever possible, such as when im refreshing DP ill move and double tap swD, so I tend to believe i spawn more than the average spriest.

One last funny tidbit, before 4.1, doting massive amounts of targets with swpain and running around procing tons of shadowy apparitions was more total dmg than mindsear, at least in my attempts at it. It should be noted you have to be running right on top of the mobs so the apparitions hit them as soon as possible.

Here's my cut'n'pasted take on it:

Through New's tests and my own independent tests, the 4p bonus is worth ~70.25 PP. If you can gain ~70PP by replacing a piece of T11 then it is a wash. Basically if you're running 4pT11 where one item is still 359 and you can replace it with 372, you're coming out ahead by replacing that item with a non-set item. Once you can get that 4th piece up to 372, though, it is superior. Additionally, the helm off of Sinestra is roughly break-even in PP, so I'm gearing for T11 Shoulders/Legs/Chest, Sinestra helm (eventually), and Chimaeron's gloves.
