    Still harder than every other melee class.

    Mastering the priority rotation isn't very difficult to get down, it's mastering proc priority like pretty much everyone has stated. Knowing when to use exo over tv, switching targets to pass judgement around to everything to can to maximize censure uptime, etc., etc., I could go on but you see what im getting at. We can't apply censure to one target then use an ability to pass it around to every mob in in sight..(cough cough DKs)

    true. i pulled 19k on a 348 mm vs a 363 shadow priest doing 18. me thinks marksman are op.

    @reith: exorcism always critting is a decent deal. id love to hit 50ks all the time whenever art of war procs hell thats brilliant. what if hunters had a 100% crit chance on aimed shot if they were fighting a beast. same deal sorta.

    anyway it should account for some extra dps. exo hits hard when critting always. n ya mastering proc prio is tricky.

    This comes up time and time again, it's entirely down to the addons you use. With the right addons, every spec could be done by an 8 year old.

    No, ret isn't hard. Granted it can be "difficult" to get used to for some it's generally easy once you pick up the swing of things.

    So what about Inquisition refreshing? With Hopo or DP? Where do they fall in line? What about Inquisition application, I'm not saying your priority is wrong by any means. It's a little off not much but you are missing a few things that fine tune it. Maybe it's stuff you do but when suggesting a rotation I would add it as well.

    You have the basics and by following those basics you will just merely DPS but there are a ton of variances with Ret. Learning and understanding those variances will increase your DPS considerably. The current priority I follow would be this however it can change as weapons/gear changes.

    inqa -> inqrhp -> cs -> inqrdp -> tvdp -> exoud -> exo -> tvhp -> how -> j -> hw
    Ah thanks for that. My actual rotation does look similar to yours but not exact, and I forgot all about refreshing when I was typing up my original post lol, the OP just wanted to see what the general rotation was like.

    The basic mechanics of Ret aren't hard, but people always confuse basic "rotations" with carefully structured priority lists. It's easy to dps as ret if you wanna be johnny middle man. Being able to manage your holy power masterfully and cooldowns so that they line up with one another is another story. This is prettymuch true for every class tho (sans holy Power ofc)

    After reading op i was gonna write a mini guide but tbh i cant be bothered.

    I apologise for this un-contructive post but all classes have diff mechanics, when all said and done ret pretty easy

    There's more to being a Ret Paladin then just your rotation. Because you wear plate and have some basic tools you are also prime candidate for healer protector. You have lots of tools in your arsenal such as Lay on Hands this is a game changer.. I can't tell you how to be a Ret Paladin but I can give you an example to get you thinking.. This is just one of your roles that goes without saying....

    You're running a 5 man dungeon and you don't have aggro because YOU'RE SMART and can play your toon. But the healer has aggro and the tank can't get to the healer so you run over and slap the mobs off the healer with divine storm (hand of protection or is the healer ok?).. So now you do have aggro because again you are smart and can play your toon.. About 1 yard before you run through the tank bubble and then stand right inside him.. Slip out the backside and pickup DPS again..

    CLCret and a little time on your toon and you will begin to see the rotation. TellMeWhen for the juicy details.. Commonsense for the rest..

    Not hard in my opinion, just different. The mass exodus of rets after cata launched is still really in effect

    If you want to enjoy the game and play exactly how wotlk Ret felt roll an Arms Warrior pretty much all of their DPS is based on ECD use and Rage management. It feels so much like Ret and i my crappy 353 gear I pull 20K in Raid pugs all the time.
