I don't understand how it's got the 2600k on there but not the 580. The 580 is STILL the most powerful
single core single card solution to date, at least that's my understanding.
Dual 580's still beat other 2-card single-core setups from what i've read as well. The 590's and 6990's obviously don't count since they're dual core single card solutions. Maybe it wasn't added purely because of the price. Even now, it's still £350 for one (and that'd be on offer). But to put an "insane" column and leave out the actual definition of insane is well... insane. Adding in 2 580's would be what i'd call insane, while 3 would be somewhere way above that
We didn't know how the 2600k was going to perform when the 580 had reviews coming out of every orifice of the internet, so it can't be that old.
It also left out the top end of the RAM speed spectrum (1866Mhz+), which is where the real bandwidth throughput starts to scale incredibly.
For someone looking to build an insane build, i'd honestly have to say that guide doesn't really do it justice. There should be an "overkill" column where it goes all out on everything without worrying about cost.
I'd be interested to know exactly what you do have maxed and what resolution you're using to get 100 FPS. If you're not using enhanced shadows and don't have maxed view distance, i can understand. However, i will say that it does look like the perfect system the OP is asking for.
