The battery in this thing is basically to keep the system on while you hunt down another wall socket. Idle or with minor use it only lasts about 30 minutes or so.

Jeeeeeze... You'd think the world would have come up with a better power source by now. Next thing you know, sites are gonna start bundling generators with laptops under the 'portability' section.

Well this thing is would be better called a desknote, than a standard laptop. It's not small, it's a 17" and 12lbs like I stated before. It's also ~2.5" thick with the lid closed. The reason you can't push it on the battery is that that much current draw all at once can easily damage the battery.

The Adapter for this thing is 300W, it's roughly the size and weight of a brick, bigger than a standard red brick actually. Now the 300W is barely enough to run the system, if I max out both GPUs and the CPU at the same time, it will trip the breaker in the Adapter. But 99% of the time it's fine. They have a device now that lets you use two of the adapters at once, but it didn't exist when I got mine. When i'm working again I'll have to get one and a second Adapter. And maybe upgrade the CPU and GPUs to the current ones, who knows.

With the 980X and SLI'd 480Ms. The 990X and 485Ms didn't exist when I got mine. Yes, a desktop CPU, no other laptop(aside from others based on the Clevo X7200) do that.

Which is why I said "aside from others based on the Clevo X7200" And i got mine before the 990X existed.
