Can you get a decent gaming pc for 600 euros?

    Just edited this:

    I have ordered:

    Asrock H61DE/S3 | H61DE/S3
    Cooler Master Elite 430 (Zwart) | RC-430-KWN1
    Corsair Builder CX500 V2 | CMPSU-500CXV2EU
    Corsair XMS3 TW3X4G1333C9 | TW3X4G1333C9A
    Sony Optiarc DDU1681S Zwart | DDU1681S-0B
    Western Digital Caviar Black WD5002AALX. 500GB | WD5002AALX

I already have an i5 2500 quad core

And GTX 460 is coming soon. All this is about 600 euros.

Only thing is i am worried about the motherboard, i mean its Asrock and its experiences with people are varied.

put it this way, you wait a little longer, save up to 1000, if you can last 2-4 more months, there are new generations of chips coming out, it will drive the current prices down. You have the ivy-Bridge from Intel and the Bulldozer from AMD coming out.

PLus, 600E will get you a decent machine, but youd need 1000 to get a decent GAMING machine. In any case, if you can wait until about august or september when the new chips come out, you will make out a lot better on the deal, even if you go with the current (not the ivybridge or bulldozer) generation coming out as it will be cheaper and you can spend more money on a vid card.

I bought one a year ago for 600 euros. Serves me well so far. So yes, it is possible.

    In short: Yes.

You just need to know what components to pick.

Wont game much on it, just want it to be fast at least. I drool to lots of high powered processors.

I'd recommend saving up a little bit. You CAN get a decent gaming machine for about 600, but if you save up even just another 100, you can get so much better.

Edit: For example, I'm about to spend £600 on a gaming machine. That's just under 700 Euros. It'll be able to play a large majority of games on high settings, and will run as smoothly as I want. It will also have the option to OC, so it COULD be even faster.

I'd recommend letting someone choose the components for you. Unless you want to put the time in to properly do your homework about PCs, it'll just be so much easier.

Edit 2: This isn't including a Monitor, Keyboard or Mouse. Those things I'm keeping from my old PC

Then you should put most of your dough on an i5 (or even i7) CPU from intel, and a nice pair of Corsair RAM sticks.

600 € entirely for a desktop case are an huge amount, if you do all the assembly and buy 1 piece per time from various websites you're capable of a medium/high end computer, really.
The Dolphin setup on this thread is pretty awesome and it will cost lesser than 600 euros.
