    ROFL.

That I'll let slide. But whatever you do, don't tell people that Syrio = Dolorous Edd

That one was rather expected really because they were complete opposites. I was much more impressed by how the Mountain turned out to be Tyrion's twin brother who had been hidden away at birth.

I almost feel bad for poor Theon. He's going to be the most hated character since... well, Joffrey.

Future seasons are going to be interesting. With the stories being broken up into separate books but the same timelines (just in different places) they will probably have to merge some stuff and not follow the 1 book, 1 season formula.

One word of advice: don't get too attached to any characters!

Entertainment Weekly recently said they hadn't cast anyone for Stannis or Melisandre yet. Not sure how long ago that magazine came out. I was disappointed in the first season. There is a ton of history with the Targaryans. Considering it didn't focus on that, Maester Aemon's revelation to Jon Snow about being Aemon Targaryan just didn't have the same kind of impact in the series that it had in the book. Same with Daenarys and the eggs. Not enough of that. It was pretty faithful to the books in many aspects though. Aiden Gillen as Littlefinger and Charles Dance as Tywin Lannister were spot on casting though. Peter Dinkelage is just a little too pretty to be Tyrion. I'll be interested to see how they run with Clash of Kings. I found that book to be far superior to any of the 5.

And here I thought I had somehow missed a memo and it was starting already lol

GRRM only did that with Feast of Crows and Dance with Dragons. The other three run along the same timeline. The last two were only split up because he felt the book would be too long. Even still, about 600 pages into DWD, he brings us back to all the regular characters.

I always hated Cersei WAY more than anyone else.

Both have been cast now I think; Carice Van Houten and Stephen Dillane respectively. Mel in particular is spot on.

I loved her chapters, heh. I preferred seeing her through Jaime's eyes though.

    Joffrey is worse. Waaaay worse.

The actor who plays him does a great job. (making me want to kill him that is -which is good)

Better yet : DRAGONS ! Worse yet : no Drogo or Ned ... Oh well ...

Cersei just wants to be like her daddy. Speaking of which, I think I may just hate Tywin the most for turning the Lannisters into (outwardly) evil-minded bastards.

You say "only", but that's still 40% of the books lol.

Only the first... say 60-70 percent of DwD happen at the same time as AFfC, though.

Nah, Joffrey is still tops on my list. I love the casting of Jack Gleeson. He easily has the face of a kid I'd like to punch in the face repeatedly.

I keep having these morbid thoughts of that little actor at his wedding's climax in book three. I think he'll pull off that particular scene quite well.

I'm really creeped out by how the guy playing Tickler looks exactly like I imagined him.

    (He's Anthony Morris, BTW.)
