there is no book that can't be improved with the adition of MOAR ARYA! easily my favourite character in the series (although Tyrion is also EPIC amounts of win) although I really doubt it'll happen, as it's supposed to be about the OTHER 1000 characters, I'm kinda hoping Arya gets a few chapters in Dance, I'd totally forgotten where she ended up (hence the now started re-reading of the series) and MAN can't wait to see where she ends up....

Dragons is supposed to happen at the same time as Feast, so I doubt if much more will be answered as far as the Brienne/Arya cliffhangers. I felt that Arya had a good place in Feast, and I loved the stories around Jaimie/Brienne and Cersei's troubles. I need to reread but her plots getting turned against her by the holy warriors, that was pretty awesome. And Jaimie standing up to her.

I really enjoyed Feast, I am honestly amazed at how many people on these forums I have seen say they didn't like Feast.

That at least seems obvious, once you realize that Ned never calls Jon his son, only saying that he's his blood. I should have seen that earlier to be honest.

Mods: If this is unnecessary then just delete this thread It just popped into my head that this might be a better place for spoilers, so people dont get events ruined, as the ** SPOILER ** tags dont really work, since ppl tend to just read on anyway.
You should change the tag to something that says it's about both the books and the TV show. I haven't read the books, and I'm very happy there were no spoilers in the OP =)

Yeah, I guess this thread really is about the whole series, and not just GOT specific. Perhaps add "book series" after GOT in the title?

If anyone is interested in some speculation about Jon Snow's mother (or parents in general) then read this excellent article. Massive spoilers from all of the books in this article though, just be warned.

If Jon is indeed a Targaryen, I wonder how it will be revealed. If I remember correctly, everyone that is supposed to know about this is dead. Except maybe the so called Wylla, but her word won't be enough evidence to be believable for the other characters. Maybe the dragons will recognize him or something like this.

    Howland Reed is still alive.

I forgot about him. I obviously need to reread the books. It's been so long...

Ah, glad this thread is back :P I needed to ask a MAJOR SPOILER question about the later books, but it's impossible to make it 'spoiler safe' so I'll post it here :P

1: Loras is the guy who comes back later and can't be killed right? after all that jazz with the Red Priests funky Life breath stuff? and then he does the same to Catelyn after she goes kablooe at the Red Wedding

2: I can't remember, what was the name of that Knight from later, the one who duels the Mountain for Tyrion, he fights with a spear and he's fighting to avenge his sister who the Mountain killed? It's been buggin me for days and I can't wait till I just get to that bit in the books.

also it would probably be a good idea to change the tag on this thread from [TV] to [Books] just to stop people getting the show spoiled for them.

I've got to say I was a little annoyed with how far they took the Loras/Renly spoiler last episode. Their relationship is definitely important but it is meant to be only strongly hinted at. Viewers are meant to question Renly's sexuality and what his relationship with Loras is, it makes the plot more intriguing... They kind of shot themselves in the foot with that for the next books.

Make no mistake I get why they're doing it; it's HBO and they wanted to include something for their gay viewers (and god knows there have been enough scenes for straight people (it's actually starting to get to be a bit much)) but taking an important element of intrigue from the series for that purposes just seems like a poor decision.

    Also to answer Gallahadd
    1. No, that's Beric Dondarrion.
    2. He wasn't a knight, that was Oberyn Martell. He's the younger brother of the ruler of Dorne.

I wonder if Frankengreggor will be in Dance since the PoV areas are shifting.

I wonder if that matters. Jon is of Night's Watch, so why should we care.
Now whether Tirion is a Targaryen, that is a more interesting story.

Not to mention that Stannis may pull a power play.
